A lifelong birder, naturalist, and field biologist, Rich MacDonald is usually found outdoors with binoculars strapped over his shoulder. He has long studied boreal birds and water birds, and led birding adventures throughout North America and beyond. In recent years, Rich has served as lead naturalist for Garrison Keillor on each of the six cruises of National Public Radio’s “A Prairie Home Companion.” He has published numerous articles on birding and ecology, and runs the Natural History Center in Bar Harbor, Maine.
