An absolutely superb trip for anyone who is genuinely interested in food and wine - fascinating visits to a variety of wineries with tastings of wonderful wines - delicious foods, some of which you learn to prepare. One of the best tour leaders ever - Alessandro Bindi is very knowledgeable about foods, wines and of course, his country. Somewhat "off the beaten path" - you enjoy a different view of Italy by visiting charming smaller cities and towns (Spello, Parma, Conegliano), and avoid most of the more crowded typical tourist destinations. I'm hoping Road Scholar expands this concept and offers similar tour of other countries or regions. Definitely a five star trip!

ABBONDONZA! Abundance extraordinaire!!!! Five magnificent and varied locations: busy ALMALFI COAST & CAPRI, calm majesty of SPELLO, urban FLORENCE, stylish-hopping PARMA, and finally a modern-featured Best Western housed in antiquity in CONEGLIANO! Tastes and sites were more than enough to satisfy body, mind and soul. Meals, tastings, and wines totally justified the trip cost and were so generous that independent meals were usually just 'light' bites. The cooking days were pure joy! ALESSANDRO, our guide, provided skilled leadership and offered informative and entertaining monologues of Italian regions, foods & wines, and history & politics. He enriched and augmented our daily adventures while providing for individual interests. Our 'instructors', Wilma Barbieri and Silvia Maccare, added historic and regional information that wonderfully enhanced our tours. All guides and drivers were delightful. FAVES- our cooking day at the BARLOTTI FARM- THANK YOU BARBARA and STAFF!! Visiting ASSISI! SURPRISE- the topography of Italy (we covered about 500 miles- celebrate the journey) SUGGESTION- although I loved meeting the proprietors at each location we often had 'double translations'- Italian to ALESSANDRO than ALESSANDRO to us in English. THIS WAS A MAGICAL ADVENTURE! JUST DO IT!! Diane 5/6 - 5/23/18ABBONDONZA!

An Abbondanza of wonderful experience! The tour leader was outstanding, very knowledgeable, well organized and considerate. A wide ranging, multiple region exposure to food, culture and wine of Italy. Thoroughly enjoyed this program. Highly recommended.
