I had very little knowledge of Portugal prior to this trip. This itinerary provided an introduction into many facets of Portuguese history, culture, environment, architecture, gastronomy, and general way of life. It was a week well-spent.

The program was well organized, fun and just the right amount of free time for individual exploration or downtime. The hotel location in the center of the historic area afforded easy access to points of interest, ocean, transit, restaurants, shopping, pharmacies, etc. I learned so much about Portugal and got my fill of castles, palaces, wine and developed an appreciation for the beautiful Portugese tiles!

The Portugal experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the journey.

The website is not always the easiest to navigate, but it does supplement the all inclusive hard copy information that Road Scholar generously provides. Also, the information is accurate which is important when you're planning...especially those last minute details.

This program pulled out all the stops! It is the second Global Get Together I've attended and both have been outstanding. This one excelled for its content and the wonderful food and wine. The program provides a great introduction to Portugal and the Lisbon area. It made me want to go back and do more. Many friends have told me Portugal was their favorite travel destination and now I can see why. Go...you won't be disappointed. Plus it's a great deal!

Excellent program.

If lifelong learning to interesting destinations with compatible people interests you, Road Scholar provides a a great time, beautifully and flawlessly planned with traditional meals punctuating the comfortable tours. You'll not regret booking an adventure with Road Scholar.

Outstanding diverse program introduced us to the old and the new Portugal.

Better than expected, with wonderful education, food, trips, sights, hotel. Have taken more than 40 Road Scholar trips, this was one of the very best. A lot of work and planning obviously went into it. I rate it A plus! (but not the weather in January)

A wonderful experience--my mother and I went together and had a marvelous time. The trip was sold out at 120 people but we were divided into smaller groups of 24, which was perfect. Our guide was delightful--entertaining as well as incredibly knowledgeable about Portuguese history and culture. The activities were expertly chosen and planned. They included a nice variety of experiences in Lisbon and surrounding towns. A highlight of the trip was the incredible food and wine--we had numerous very memorable meals in beautiful locations. The hotel was very nice and in a great location in central Lisbon. I would love to visit Portugal again on another Road Scholar trip.

This was my sixth Road Scholar program and I was very impressed with the variety of experiences included. Everything was very well organized and flawlessly executed. Our group leader was top notch. Portugal is beautiful, fascinating and hospitable.

The Road Scholar program in Lisbon was stimulating, fun and delicious. Out hotel (Mundial) was in a great location and had everything we could want. I enjoyed finding commonalities and differences with my fellow travelers.

Best group tour I've ever been on. The guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. A pleasant experience all around

The Lisbon Great Global Get Together was phenomenal !. The itinerary was meticulously planned, everything was super organized, gusset speakers were interesting, and engaging and informative, and our group guide was super. Food and food venues were carefully chosen, and the whole trip was a gastronomical delight!. All of The participants in the program were there for the same reason, to learn about the culture, to travel and explore and to have fun doing so
