If you like to travel by foot and public transportation, this is a great trip for you. Public transportation was easy to use. Some participants refused to participate in the home visits, but those of us who did found it very enjoyable. Another highlight was the cultural event, a classical trombone concert by our guide Caroline and two of her symphony colleagues.

This was our first trip with Road Scholars and it exceeded our expectations. We learned so much about Stockholm and Sweden from our excellent tour guide. The members of our group were wonderful! They were very helpful and kind. We enjoyed talking with them throughout the trip. I hope we will meet them again on another trip!

I highly recommend the Stockholm City Walk. Stockholm is a fascinating and beautiful city to visit. The mornings were well planned, and our guide, Caroline, was knowledgeable and a great resource. The combination of guided tour in the early part of the day with free afternoons to pursue our own special interests was a perfect combination. History and information about points of interest were conveyed while we walked, with midmorning breaks for the traditional "fika". There were sights on this tour that we would never have discovered on our own. For example, we visited the new housing development, Hammarby Sjostad, that is a model for sustainable living. The societal values of caring for the environment (natural and urban) and for their citizens was evident everywhere we went. For example, I had occasion to require urgent medical care, and found their medical system to be responsive, of high quality, and delivered in a beautiful clinic with exceptional original art. Good design, quality workmanship and functionality are high priorities, and contribute to the pleasure of traveling here. In addition, the Road Scholar-provided meals were excellent. We had the opportunity to sample many traditional dishes, including reindeer. The length of the stay was just right. Within the city of Stockholm, there are many exceptional museums, palaces, islands, and gardens to explore. You will not run out of things to do. Thank you to Caroline and Marje for making the trip memorable and rewarding. Katharine K (Summer '18)

This was a most enjoyable trip and we liked the option of afternoons free for our own discovery. The food was very good, the hotel was better than average, and our leaders were talented and most helpful. Mimi and Jim Berkshire

This was a wonderful introduction to Stockholm and Sweden. I highly recommend it. It is a walking tour as it states in the description so wear sturdy shoes.

This was the first date this tour was conducted. I can hardly find any fault with it. It had the right balance of educational value and entertainment opportunities. The tour guides were very competent. I loved Stockholm more than I expected to. I want to live there. If you go you won't be sorry. Five stars.
