When it comes to the heart and soul of Miami, the beaches and hotels only scratch the surface. This international city boasts culturally diverse neighborhoods, impressive architecture and world-class museums. During this week-long gala event, learn about this great city with experts and a group of fellow life-long learners. Savor the unique character of Little Havana reflected in its cafes, cigar shops and art galleries. Explore the pastel architecture of Miami’s world-famous Art Deco District, and learn how Wynwood transformed into an artist’s haven. Head outside the city to discover South Florida ecology on a boat excursion and a walk through the Everglades. Nature, art, history, cuisine — there’s something for everyone, as you experience the best of Road Scholar in Miami.

Walking up to three miles on city sidewalks and uneven terrain and standing for two hours at a time.

  • Visit Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens an exceptional 2.6 acres of urban greenspace, to marvel at prehistoric plants, flowering trees and more.
  • Walk famous Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park to get close-up views of wild gators, turtles and abounding varieties of wading birds and aquatic species.
  • Journey by boat with a local historian to learn about the evolution of the Miami River and its importance to today’s economy.

General Notes

Max of 150 participants, divided into smaller groups for activities. To maintain a small group feel amid a large group program, the order of the daily schedule will vary per group. Smaller groups will each do different activities during the day, joining back together as a large group for some programming.
