Afternoon: Welcome orientation and introductions at the hotel at 4:00 p.m.. The Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the program theme, the up-to-date Daily Schedule and any changes, discuss safety guidelines, emergency procedures, roles and responsibilities, and answer any questions you may have. Indicated times are approximate. Program activities, schedules, and personnel may need to change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: Welcome dinner at a local restaurant with wine tasting. Water is included in the program cost at all meals. Unless otherwise noted, dinners on this program are typically a three course set menu.

Activity note: Please note that today will be a long day.

Breakfast: At the hotel. On this program, breakfasts will offer a typical European style breakfast buffet with breads, cheeses, cold-cuts, yogurt, fruit, cereals, juice, milk, coffee, tea and water.

Morning: After breakfast depart for a full day excursion to Transylvania. This legendary region is a place deeply rooted in myth and history, nestled between the Carpathian Mountains. Take a scenic drive through the countryside to Brasov (approx. 3 hours). Brasov is one of the most picturesque historic cities of Romania. Established by Saxon (German) settlers at a strategic crossroad of trade routes in the 12th century it was the gate of the Hungarian kingdom towards the southeast. Surrounded by high mountains one can always enjoy the clean air and the nice streets, squares, towers, churches. One of the highlights is the Black Church, the largest Gothic structure of Eastern Europe.

Lunch: At a local restaurant.

Afternoon: After lunch, travel to the city of Bran and explore the infamous Bran Castle, otherwise known as Dracula's Castle. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel in Bucharest (approx. 3 hours).

Morning: Explore the Hill of the Patriarchy, the center of the Romanian Orthodox church, the historic center, and then see the ruins of Vlad Tepes’ castle.

Lunch: Explore local fare on your own.

Afternoon: Enjoy some free time in the downtown of Bucharest to for personal independent exploration to see and do what interests you most. Please refer to the list of Free Time Opportunities, which can be found in the first Information Packet. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions and give directions. Later in the afternoon, transfer to Fetesti for embarkation. Attend a welcome and orientation by the captain and crew.

Morning: The natural beauty of the Danube Delta is on full display today. Enjoy cruising on the Saint George Canal, one of the 3 main channels of the Danube Delta, home of many unique species of birds, fish and other creatures. In the fisherman’s village Saint George observe daily life of the people who inhabit this fertile Delta. Enjoy a Delta Safari boat excursion through the Danube Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a vital sanctuary for around 300 bird species.

Morning: Today we visit Belgrade, one of the oldest European cities and the capital of Serbia. Highlights of this city are the Kalemegdan Fortress and the St. Sava Temple.

Lunch: To taste the local cuisine, visit the Skadarska Street filled with local restaurants, or enjoy lunch on board.

Afternoon: During free time you can visit the Tesla Museum or the National Museum or just stroll along one of the bustling pedestrian streets with many shops and markets.

Morning: This morning the ship stops briefly in the town of Mohacs. This town is famous for its battle of 1526 which the Hungarians lost and was the start of the 1.5 century occupation by the Ottomans.

Afternoon: Visit a farm for a "Pálinka and Pogácsa" tasting (a traditional Hungarian schnapps) and learn more about paprika. Later, travel to the Hungarian Puszta, a vast plain and enjoy a special Puszta horse show.

Morning: Enjoy a guided excursion through the Pest side of the city and see Andrássy Avenue, the second biggest Synagogue in the world, Heroes' Square, the Opera, the magnificent Parliament building. Walk through the Buda Castle Quarter which is recognized as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take in the Gothic arches, 18th century Baroque houses, and cobblestone streets. Though Castle Hill has changed much since building began in the 13th century, its main streets still follow their original medieval paths. Some houses date back to the 14th and 15th centuries, giving us an idea of what the Castle District may have looked like in the past.

Afternoon: Enjoy Budapest on your own visiting a museum or stroll through the famous covered Old Market or enjoy an excursion to the Royal Palace of Godollo.

Dinner: On board.

Evening: Enjoy a Hungarian evening with music topped with an evening cruise down the Danube to see this beautiful city by night.
