I’ve never had any experience with clay, glass, or blacksmithing, This program is a wonderful interactive introduction. I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort level. A great experience!

If you would like to try pottery making, glass working and blacksmithing with the help of people who will make you look good and then have a sense of accomplishment: "Wow! I made that!" This is a trip for you.

This was my first Road Scholar adventure and it exceeded all expectations. Our "adventure coach" Jenny Monroe set the tone for a fun, interesting, friendly experience. She is a great story-teller and a wealth of knowledge about the area and the crafts we worked on. Without exception, the instructors for glass arts, pottery, and blacksmithing were accomplished artists who are excellent teachers as well. The field trips and guest speakers rounded out the educational experience. Corning is a sweet little city with two amazing museums, the Rockwell and the Corning Glass Museum. I hope to come back and have another adventure in Corning with Jenny and Road Scholar.

This was an excellent trip. I enjoyed the activities, instructors, our leader, Jen, her assistants and our photographer, Lisa. We stayed at the Watson Homestead and found the staff friendly and helpful. There was never a dull moment. I did things I'd always wanted to do, but had never done before with a terrific group of accomplished women. The glass bowls, flowers, beads, forged S-hooks, and salt spoons were wonderful souvenirs. I can't wait to see the results of our pottery days, which need to dry and be fired. The Recycled Fashion Show was a great way to end. Corning is an interesting place, in a beautiful setting.

This was an amazing Road Scholar experience!! The variety of activities and expertise of the instructors were umparalled. Well organized, fun, and a great learning experience! Highly recommend !!!
