We will start the morning with a lecture titled, "Introduction to Portugal: Its History and its People." Afterward, we will visit a tile factory to learn everything about the process of making homemade tiles. Following the visit, we will continue on to the Lisbon countryside for lunch.
On your own to explore local cuisine.
We will visit Mafra, an architectural project designed to be a convent, palace, and basilica. This building houses one of the most important libraries in Europe, as it boasts a large diversity of thematic collections (15th to 18th centuries) representing different fields of knowledge. Afterward, we will return to Cascais along the coast with a stop at Cape Roca, the westernmost point of Europe.
