Wonderful cruise on a delightful small boat. The trip provided an excellent chance to meet new people and develop friendships. The accommodations were lovely, the wine flowed generously and the food was terrific. Loved the chance to learn more about the cities along the Rhine and to have an opportunity to visit many of them.

Overall I would recommend this trip. Seeing all the castles from the ship can’t be beat. Passing through 11 locks were fun. A smaller less crowded ship made it easier to get to know the other guest and share the experience a lot easier. With less than 70 people you don’t feel like a number. Divided into small groups of twenty something made it manageable. The room on board was actually a little bigger than I expected. Comfortable for a weeks worth of the learning experience. The on-shore excursions were informative and quick. The lectures were slightly too long but very educational and a part of the trip I also enjoyed. The local experts added a nice touch to each location with some local fare. The food was over the top! The ships crew were fun and entertaining! The walking was good. Two to three miles of walking each day. But with the great food you needed to walk some of it off. LOL Our host were pleasant, courteous, and professional. They were also very standoffish. They ate by themselves (never with guest members), couldn’t be bothered to post a single picture to the groups Tripcast photo sharing, and were eager to leave Tripcast within a few hours of our departure. They could have added so much like group photos, shots of guest having fun, and been a part of the entertainment and experience. But instead preferred to be separate and not part of any group. Maybe that’s part of Europe’s Roadscholar policy, I’m not sure. US groups sat, ate, and shared experiences with each other and the group leaders over a glass of wine at the end of the day. Take group shots and made sure everyone got a copy of those photos as part of their tour.

What an interesting way to introduce yourself to Europe and some of its history. The cruise and ship were wonderful. I especially liked that Road Scholar had the whole ship to themselves. The crew and food, including wine, we're outstanding. I plan another river cruise someday.
