This program was everything promised and more. The last evening on the ship in Budapest we were treated to a ride on the Danube to enjoy the spectacular lights of the city. Wow!

As a total experience, great! What made it great was the contrast of scenes and experiences: river majesty and the small, rural town, great cathedrals and a wedding in a simple country setting; blue sky and sweeping red-roofed panoramas and magical night views of the lighted city; chatter of unknown languages and the banter of our warm, witty group; floods of new sights, information, then seeing at dock the very ship (River Aria) my wife and sailed on eight years past - a poignant moment. At times I felt the schedule teetered on the edge of being rushed if not hectic. But what would I erase? It'd be nit picking! I agree with the consensus - Peter was exceptional!

***** ! I can highly recommend this trip! Our leader, Balázs, is well-organized, professional, knowledgeable, friendly and tall—easy to spot in a crowd! ;-) Our local guides were, for the most part, also superstars. The group was congenial and interested as we visited both the “must see” sites, as well as some places off the beaten track. My only slight disappointment was with the boat, which was a bit dated. There was only one available electrical outlet in the cabin (as one was devoted to the supplied tour listening device). Cabin temperature control was spotty. Our hotel accommodations were fantastic, however, and motor coaches were roomy and very comfortable. Most meals on the boat, and all of them on land, were very good and featured local dishes. (Great if you love cabbage and sauerkraut!) I returned exhausted, and with a desire to learn more about Central Europe’s history and culture. As a special bonus, I made some great new friends whom I’d be happy to travel with in the future. Thank you fellow Road Scholars and Balázs for the wonderful experience! I’m looking forward to my next adventure.

For a first time river cruise with the right mix of natural scenery, gorgeous city-scapes, and European history lessons, this program would be hard to beat.

If you have not been to this part of Europe, this tour is a great first introduction. To experience Budapest, Vienna, and Prague on one tour is remarkable. Prepare to start early in the day and be on the go.

We had a wonderful Group Leader Balazas, he was very well organized, and very helpful. His material and his knowledge was the best I have ever experienced with a tour Guide. This was a great trip.

Sorry, I do not use the website.

This was a great trip. You get a 'taste' of a part of Europe that you might not see otherwise.
