This trip was a fantastic introduction to the Adirondacks wilderness experience. The group leaders were warm, responsive, well organized, and always eager to share their extensive knowledge of plants, birds, and forest history, as well as offer instruction in canoe paddling technique. They collaborated and communicated beautifully, assessing group needs, timing, and weather to adapt activities as appropriate, so that each day flowed seamlessly. Leaders chose routes that were less travelled to give us the best wilderness experience possible within a reasonable distance of our lodging, including one unused path right out our door. Activities were challenging but not intimidating, evening presentations were engaging and informative, and accommodations and meals were excellent with gracious helpful staff, lovely common rooms and comfortable bedrooms, a beautiful setting (including a beautiful lake, perfect for a swim or kayak paddle during free time), and excellent healthful, tasty and plentiful meals. Canoeing and exploring the Adirondacks with Road Scholar and Adirondacks Mountain Club (ADK) guides was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you, RS and ADK!

This was my first time exploring the Adirondaks. It was well worth the time and energy.
