The YMCA is a beautiful location. Leaders were fun and knowledgeable. Program was excellent. I like the small group experience and am already planning my next adventure with Road Scholar. This was my first trip with them but it won't be my last. Wonderful experience.

This was our first RS trip. Wasn't sure what to expect but it exceeded our expectations! The YMCA Trout Lodge is located on a lake surrounded by forests and rolling hills, beautiful! The activities available during free time are extensive. We took our 18 yr old grandson and he had a blast. Highlight was climbing the Alpine Tower and the float trip. The pace was just right, so nice not to have to plan any part of it. The small group we were with (24 total) had grandchildren ranging from 9 to 16. The age differences didn't matter, everyone fit in and we enjoyed getting to know our group members. The food was great, the accommodations were nice, we all had decks overlooking the lake. The group leaders (Steve and Ashley) were phenomenal! They stayed upbeat, helpful and had a great sense of humor. They were careful to keep us safe in all activities and still make sure we had a blast. We had some storms role in that caused a slight change in our program, but again, they rose to the challenge and made sure "plan B" was just as good as the original plan. We learned a lot while having fun. Especially enjoyed the hike in Elephant Rock State Park and the country store stop on the way back. It was so worth our time and money, all the kids seemed to enjoy it no matter what age they were. Grandparents took part in all the activities and we often surprised ourselves at how well we kept up. We got to be kids too! They offer an extensive list of water activities, some planned and some offered during free time. The staff we interacted with throughout the facility were are very friendly and helpful, especially enjoyed volunteers Andy and Debbie who taught us archery and sailing. The interaction with the horses and the trail rides, were also a favorite among our group. Our leaders even made sure pictures were taken on our behalf at every activity which we had access to at the end of the week. What a wonderful memory they gave us with our grandson!

This program was so much fun! Our extended family of 10 loved it. It's so nice to go on a vacation where there are fun things to do and no one has to think about, plan, buy, cook, or clean up the food during the week!

This family program is excellent. All three generations of our family attended and there was something for everyone. I would highly recommend these programs.
