We really enjoyed our Road Scholar trip to Quebec City. The accommodations were excellent, the food was superb and the instructors were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Many people still think Road Scholar, the old Elderhostel, participants stay on campus sleeping in dorm rooms. Not so as all rooms were in a 5 star hotel and food was 5 star. This was not to mention the wealth of information shared with us.

This was an absolutely wonderful tour. It was a well-chosen mixture of activities: the history and government of Quebec; the arts, music, and culture; nature and the environment. My most memorable moments were views along the Saguenay Fjord and sightings of Beluga Whales; strings chamber music at an international music academy; evening walks in old Quebec City (the Chateau Frontenac is breath taking) and traveling on the Saint Lawrence River. The food & restaurant choices were wonderful, from the home cooking at Café Chez Sam’s in Charlevoix and on Ile aux Lievres to the epicurean specialties at the Chateau Frontenac and Tournebroche in Quebec City. The tour leaders were outstanding: Andree’s enthusiasm and engaging personality; Judith’s wealth of knowledge, both of history and nature/the land and her keen sense of humor. I highly recommend this tour. It exceeded my expectations.

This was my first Road Scholar program. It was absolutely wonderful! It was such a good experience that I am sure I will sign up for more in the future. If you enjoy history, beautiful scenery, exciting cities, and learning about a different culture, consider this program. You will not regret it!!!

This was an awesome trip! So many wonderful things planned each day/ I am so glad my friend invited me on this one. great to learn the history of Quebec, see the older buildings...wonderful foods, cheeses, desserts. Surprised to stay on an island one night and be a little more rustic in a cabin along with a naturalist walk. then a 5 Star 2 night stay at the Fairmont hotel! I need to return to this grand style hotel! I will definately tell some friends about this one. we even experienced a strings concert by the teachers at a well known school in their 5 million dollar facility. then another night some local fiddlists. great to see the lower city also. had I gone on my own I would not of seen or learned what I did. the Ferry , the whales, out of the way places to eat along with the hotel food too. 12.20.19 : Update a friend that went on this tour went on a tour with another company to Italy for a cooking class style and comparing the two tours she gave Rhode Scholar a 10!

WOW! This Sept. 2018 trip was fabulous! Great leaders and fun small group companions shared in learning the diversity of Quebec City and Quebec Provence. And OH YES! - the oo la la food and stellar accommodations were over the top! No long, boring lectures on this trip- we learned and experienced while in motion - walking, boating, train riding, island hiking, local and private touring of cultural venues -- information overflowing to broaden our views. Topics of History, architecture, art, ecology, the St. Lawrence River heartbeat - everything that knits this land and people together in such a wonderful way was presented in a personal spirit of friendship through our group leaders. So glad the Brits allowed Quebec to keep its French culture in Quebec! We are the fortunate who experience this tour through the eyes of its native Quebecois! Thanks Andree, Judith and Louise for your expertise and care!
