Activity note: The Norwegian Breakaway will be docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal located at 711 12th Avenue, New York, NY. Arrival transfers are not included. If you are delayed arriving to the ship, please contact our after hours phone at 503-310-2751.

Afternoon: You may embark the ship between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm. You will not be allowed to embark the ship after 2:00 pm. If you are arriving by air, we recommend flights that arrive in New York City before 12:00 pm. Please make sure you have registered online with Norwegian Cruise Lines and you have your eDocs and passport accessible when you arrive to the ship.

Dinner: Welcome dinner is at 5:30 pm aboard the ship in the Savor Dining Room on Deck 6. The maître d’ will seat you with your fellow Road Scholar participants and study leader.

Evening: Each evening you will be free to enjoy one of the many onboard activities including: live performances, movies and live music.

Activity note: Days at sea will be a mix of independent and group activities. In addition to private lectures by your group leader, you will have the opportunity to enjoy all of the activities, amenities and entertainment options aboard the ship. Each evening Road Scholar will have a group dining reservation in one of the dining rooms, but you are free to try one of the many other specialty restaurants on board.

Breakfast: Breakfast at leisure aboard the ship.

Morning: In the morning, meet with your study leader and fellow participants for the program orientation at 10:00 am in the Manhattan Room Dining Room. Learn about the ship, the itinerary and what you will see and do during your program. Following orientation, enjoy a lecture by your study leader, "Bermuda's Oldest Inhabitants." Review the early history, plants and animals of Bermuda.

Lunch: Lunch at leisure aboard the ship. Choose from a variety of complimentary and supplemental dining options aboard the Norwegian Breakaway.

Afternoon: Enjoy an afternoon lecture with your study leader, “Architecture of Bermuda" in the Manhattan Room Dining Room at 2:00 pm.

Dinner: Group dinner aboard the ship in the Taste Room at 5:30 pm.

Morning: Enjoy a morning lecture by your study leader, “Hamilton and St. George" in the Manhattan Room Dining Room at 10:00 am.

Lunch: Lunch at leisure aboard the ship.

Afternoon: Enjoy an afternoon lecture by your study leader, "Mystery Roses and Exotic Flora of Bermuda" in the Manhattan Room Dining Room at 2:00 pm. At 4:30 pm enjoy an exclusive Road Scholar Cocktail Party in the Fat Cats Lounge.

Dinner: Group dinner aboard the ship in the Savor Room at 5:30 pm.

Activity note: Some down hill (but not steep) walking is required and temperatures may be hot during your city exploration. The ferry to Hamilton may be crowded and require waiting in line to board.

Breakfast: Breakfast at leisure on board the ship.

Morning: Arrive at King's Wharf, Bermuda. Upon disembarkation, join your study leader for a walk around the Royal Navy Dockyard, just steps from where our ship is docked.

Lunch: Return to the ship for lunch or dine on your own at King's Wharf.

Afternoon: In the afternoon we'll take a ferry to Hamilton and explore Bermuda's capital. This short walking tour led by your study leader will cover main streets as well as the Bermuda Historical Society Museum, Par-la-ville Park and City Hall. Stop in at the Bermuda National Gallery, which houses Bermuda's national art collection.

Dinner: Group dinner aboard the ship in the Manhattan Room at 5:30 pm.

Activity note: Getting on and off a motorcoach, standing at walking at historic sites, boarding a small boat to to view the plankton at BIOS.

Breakfast: Breakfast at leisure aboard the ship.

Morning: Your morning is free to explore King’s Wharf. Your group leader can offer suggestions of sites to visit or popular walking routes. The National Museum in the Dockyard is a great way to review all the Bermuda History you've learned before you depart!

Lunch: Lunch aboard the ship.

Afternoon: Board a bus to drive along the scenic northern coastline of Bermuda to the historic town of St. George's. This remarkable shoreline offers photo opportunities along the way to take in the natural and man made wonders of the island. Upon entering St. George's, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will feel as if you have stepped back in time. A stop in the heart of the Town Square allows you to enter the island's First House of Assembly. Across the main street sits the oldest active Anglican church in the western hemisphere: St. Peter's Church. Step inside to marvel at its amazing state of preservation. You will enter Fort St Catherine where old swords and pistols are on display. Take in the stunning views from high atop this grand fortress.

Dinner: Continue along to the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) for dinner.

Evening: After a short lecture and tour of the facility, we'll take a short cruise with the BIOS scientist to learn about zooplankton ecology up close!

Activity note: Getting on and off a motor coach, walking and standing at Verdmont House and Botanical Gardens.

Breakfast: Breakfast at leisure aboard the ship.

Morning: Drive along the scenic coast back to the Hamilton area to visit The Verdmont House Museum. This fascinating and beautiful old house is one of Bermuda’s most significant historic buildings. Built c. 1710, Verdmont is a unique example of early Georgian architecture, and has remained virtually unchanged for 300 years. Continue on for a short drive to the Bermuda Botanical Gardens.

Lunch: Return for lunch aboard the ship.

Afternoon: Afternoon at leisure to relax or explore King's Wharf before the ship departs at 3:00 pm.

Dinner: Group dinner aboard the ship in the Manhattan Room at 5:30 pm.

Morning: Enjoy a morning lecture by your study leader, “Bermuda Tales" in the Bliss Ultra Lounge at 10:00 am.

Lunch: Lunch aboard the ship.

Afternoon: Program Wrap-Up: Meet with your group for an informal discussion about your experience during the program in the Bliss Ultra Lounge at 2:00 pm.

Dinner: Farewell dinner aboard the ship in the Manhattan Room at 5:30 pm.

Activity note: Departure transfers are not included. You will be responsible for your own transportation upon disembarking the ship.

Breakfast: Breakfast aboard the ship.

Morning: The ship is scheduled to arrive in New York City at 8:00am. Disembarkation will begin once the ship is docked and has cleared customs, around 9:30 am. All guests must be off of the ship by 10:00 am. If you are arranging your own flights out of New York City, we do not recommend flights that depart earlier than 1:00 pm.
