This was the finest and most enjoyable Road Scholar trip I've ever experienced. In fact, I enjoyed it so much the first time I enrolled in it again (this was my second time), and plan to do so again next spring. It's really that good. Jim Clark is a talented and gifted nature photographer and teacher who uses humor and gentle prodding to impart his expansive knowledge and skills to his students; I've learned much from him. He is as dedicated to passing along his expertise to the "next generation" as he is to his craft. Although open to all levels of photographer from beginner to advanced (Jim whole-heartedly welcomes everyone), in order to get the most from this workshop my suggestion to prospective students is to understand at least the basics of exposure and composition before taking it. Chincoteague and Assateague islands are magnificent, abounding with photographic opportunities. Jim has an intimate knowledge of the area and takes pain to ensure that his students visit unique locations for memorable shots. The staff at the Chincoteague Bay Field Station are cheerful, hard-working, and quite knowledgeable about the area themselves, which nicely compliments and supports Jim's photographic program. Every morning CBFS staff greeted us with smiles and hot coffee before we boarded the bus for our daily outing. I can't recommend this program more highly to anyone with a serious interest in nature photography and a willingness to learn from the best in the business.

Jim is a great teacher. He provides a photographic learning experience for all levels and makes it fun. He's receptive to our questions and gives advice that will make us better photographers. And YES, Jim, I'll try to remember to hold my lens from the bottom to make it more stable. Many participants have done this program before - multiple times and I can say I will seriously consider doing it another time.

I highly recommend this program! The instruction, both classroom and in the field, will be invaluable in improving your photography skills.

This was a terrific nature & wildlife photography program. The instructor's experience and enthusiasm for the subject added to the program. Both the classroom time and the field trips were beneficial and I enjoyed the entire program.

I went on the Pictures with a Pro: Photography on Virginia's Eastern Shore October 2018. It is for SLR photographers who understand how to use their camera. Jim Clark is a very experienced photographer and taught me so much. He'd previewed many locations and provided great photo opportunities and was very helpful in processing them. I don't know how he provided such great weather for sunrises and sunsets!

For those who are single travelers who want to experience a new and exciting adventure "outside the box"....I would highly recommend a Road Scholar program (my FIRST). The program itself is comprehensive and educational and the group (in my instance) was fun and helpful as an entity.
