Fabulous program if you want to play in the snow many different ways, with all the equipment provided (good stuff) and any cold weather clothing/boots etc. you may need!
A great way to experience a variety of winter outdoor activities at any experience level. Amazing wildlife. Extremely well organized with knowledgeable leaders. The Teton Science School provided great food and good lodging at a wonderful location. Highly recommended!
The week long - Great Outdoor Get Together in the Tetons and Jackson Hole - was a great deal of outdoor fun, educational and was well managed by the exceptional Teton Science School (TSS) staff. It exceeded my expectations was the best experience I could ask for. A great outdoor winter experience in a most beautiful setting. Plan to go again in a few years.
This program far exceeded my expectations. I was looking forward to trying Winter activities like cross country skiing, snow shoeing and dog sledding for the first time, and each of these activities was wonderful - the dog sledding day, with a soak in a hot springs and wonderful lunch, was my favorite adventure. Teton Science School instructors and our group leaders were exceptional and I came home with an entirely different way to think about environmental issues in my own backyard. Accommodations at TSS were perfect, food great, and companions a real treat. The program organization was exceptional. I can't think of any way to improve the experience -
One of my best Road Scholar experiences. The Teton Science Schools field instructors are fabulous. I had never used snow shoes or cross country skied and was a bit worried about doing both. But neither was a problem. The activities are well organized. I cannot recommend this program more.
Consider this program if you want to combine learning about the ecosystem in The Tetons and active outdoor winter activities. I stepped out of my comfort zone and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Excellent program; winter in the Grand Tetons is beautiful. Stay at the Teton Science School - we saw moose every single day!
Don't miss an opportunity to stay at the Teton Science School campus. We saw Moose every day and Mountain Bluebirds on the last day. The sunrises were beautiful. The young men and women leaders were interesting and fun to be around.
This trip was all that I had hoped for. Our guide, Peggy, was the absolute best. She did a great job. We had lots of activities that everyone was able to participate in and enjoy. My only disappointment was that the free day was scheduled on our last day. I wanted to take the day trip to Yellowstone Park which meant that I was not able to take part in the farewell evening. If the free day were mid week, we all would be together for the last evening.
What a great experience. The Road Scholars in combination with the Teton Science School did a great job of organizing this trip. First of all, the Tetons are a beautiful place to visit any time of year, but winter is really special. The total group of about 40 was divided into groups of 10, each with an individual guide. Groups were based on interest and ability. Our group of 10 was lead by Chris Perkins, who did an outstanding job of providing an exceptional experience snowshoeing, cross country skiing and learning all about the wildlife and topography of the Jackson Hole area. The lectures and field trip combinations were very informative, not to mention fun!! One of the highlights for everyone was the opportunity top go dog sledding with experts mushers for several hours ending at a hot springs with a hot lunch served. What a thrill!! Tanya did an excellent job of coordinating everything during the week representing the Road Scholars and the staff at the Teton Science Schools was an exceptional group of young people totally dedicated to teaching and experiencing life in the Tetons. With that group of people your future is in good hands. For Leta and I it was a trip of a lifetime where we met others from around the USA in our group of 10, named the Eagles, which made our experience even better. Highly recommended!!
Great program! Got and extra boost from the instructional staff and program staff. Nice to be interacting with professional "youth"- full mature, responsible adults at a relatively young age. Program was very active and enjoyable. Learned some activities.

A great trip so many new experiences and great people. Clare and Tanya did an amazing job keeping us organized and happy. The whole team at TSS were always positive and happy. Thank you for the resident moose. I live in a beautiful place and seeing Wyoming makes me realize even more what a wonderful country we live in.

It was a well planned collection of activities for the week and the scenery was gorgeous. All of the staff were helpful, competent and pleasant. A special word about Clare, our field guide for the week. She was well organized, always helpful, intuitive, upbeat and enthusiastic. Also want to say what a great job Sarah from Wildlife Expeditions did on our all day search through park for wildlife. She was very knowledgeable and able to share that in a interesting way.
This is a great program for people who what to experience the majesty of the Tetons while learning the basis of dog sledding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Organized into small groups, it's also a good chance to meet interesting people. Instructors were great and organization was superb. Can't say enough good things about it.
