Afternoon: Arrive at the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport and transfer to the hotel and check in. Take some time to settle in and relax before orientation. We will gather in our private meeting room in the early evening where the Group Leader will greet you with a warm welcome and introduce everyone. We will review the up-to-date daily schedule and any changes, discuss responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. Please be aware that program activities and scheduled times could change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: Welcome dinner at a local restaurant near the hotel.

Activity note: Today's activities include walking up to two miles in the morning over cobblestone streets. This day also includes use of the Paris metro. This underground public transportation system is accessed by going up and down flights of stairs; elevators or escalators are NOT available in the majority of stations.

Breakfast: At the hotel.

Morning: Enjoy a morning walk and metro ride to L'île de la Cité, the historical heart of Paris. With your local expert, explore the two best examples of Gothic architecture, the Sainte Chapelle and the beautiful famed Notre Dame Cathedral.

Lunch: At a restaurant in the historic center of Paris.

Afternoon: This afternoon, enjoy some free time to discover the parts of Paris you've not seen or spend time in either the Musée d'Orsay or the Louvre.

Dinner: This meal has been excluded from the program cost and is on your own to enjoy what you like. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions.

Activity note: Today's activities include walking up to two miles in Dijon as well as carrying luggage on and off the train.

Breakfast: At the hotel.

Morning: This morning, we will transfer by coach to the train station and take the TGV (High Speed Train) to Dijon.

Lunch: On arrival in Dijon.

Afternoon: We will explore Dijon by foot and make our way to the Fine Arts Museum, which is the old Dukes of Burgundy Palace. Later in the afternoon, we will embark the MS Jeanine. We will then discuss safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any additional questions you may have.

Dinner: Welcome Dinner on board. Dinner on board is a 3-course sit down meal served at set times prepared fresh on a daily basis. Drinks included are: mineral water, fruit juice, tea, coffee, house wine and beer. Champagne and wines on the special wine list are available for an additional charge.

Activity note: Today's activities include walking in the vineyards and the wine caves with no railings.

Morning: This morning we sail from Dijon to Longecourt-en-Plaine on the Burgundy Canal and learn about the wines of Burgundy in our onboard lecture.

Lunch: On board.

Afternoon: The afternoon is spent exploring the "Route des Grands Crus" or the Road of the Great Wines, driving to the vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot with a visit of the Château du Clos de Vougeot. We end the afternoon with an exceptional tasting.

Dinner: On board.

Evening: Join in a game of French trivia.

Morning: As we sail towards St. Jean de Losnes, we will learn more about the intriguing history of Burgundy in our lecture.

Afternoon: In the afternoon explore St Jean de Losnes on foot. Once a prosperous trading city at the connection of the Burgundy canal and the Saone River, today it is a leisure cruising port that maintains its charm.

Morning: The morning we will sail towards Chalons sur Saone, and continue to hear about Burgundy in our lecture. Afterwards, enjoy some time on deck to watch the picturesque scenery as you sail the Saone River.

Lunch: On board.

Afternoon: This afternoon our journey transports us to Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. Here we explore the famed Hospice de Beaune.

Morning: This morning enjoy a presentation by your Study Leader as your barge sails the canal du Centre.

Lunch: On board.

Afternoon: After lunch we walk from the barge to the village of Santenay where we meet a winemaker, who teaches us the entire process of wine making. We end this field trip with a special tasting.

Dinner: On board.

Evening: Enjoy an evening of French and regional trivia.

Evening: At leisure.

Morning: This morning, disembark in Saint Leger for your flights home. We expect to leave early by coach to the Lyon LYS airport (approx. 2 hour transfer) for your flights home.
