Afternoon: Hotel Check-in: Available from 4:00 PM. Program Registration: After you have your room assignment, come over to the Road Scholar table in the lobby to register with the program staff and get your welcome packet containing your name-tag, up-to-date schedule that reflects any last-minute changes, and other important information. If your arrival is delayed, please ask for your packet when you check in.

Dinner: Welcome dinner at your hotel.

Evening: Orientation: The Group Leader will greet everyone with a warm welcome and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule and any changes, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures including contact numbers for key staff, and answer any questions you may have. This program has been organized to allow participants to get the most out of the Palm Springs International Film Festival. There will be two films each morning, followed by a critique session in the early afternoon and early evening. You may choose which of these critique sessions to attend in order to maximize time spent at the festival. Because our programs are planned far in advance, specific information about the festival showings will not available at the time of publication or in the preparatory materials. It will be published on our website as soon as it is announced; usually one to two weeks prior to the festival start date. Film #1: A Serious Game #2: Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe

Breakfast: From 6:30 AM enjoy a breakfast buffet at your hotel.

Morning: Depart hotel via motor coach for your two morning films. Upon arrival, a general overview will be provided along with an introduction to the film. Film #1: A Serious Game will be shown. After viewing the first film, there will be a short break before Film #2: Stefan Zweig: Farewell to Europe.

Lunch: Return to your hotel and enjoy lunch with your group.

Afternoon: At the hotel, we will have critique sessions to compliment the films watched earlier in the day. Led by film experts, we will have the opportunity to discuss the films in more depth and gather a greater appreciation for the content. The sessions have been scheduled to allow flexibility to see other films. In both hotels, sessions will be held daily at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., last approximately one hour. For those who would like to see additional evening films we recommend attending the afternoon critique and for those who would like to see additional afternoon films we recommend attending the evening critique.

Dinner: This meal has been excluded from the program cost and is on your own to enjoy what you like. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions.

Evening: We will have our second film critique session of the day from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Afternoon: Critique session at the hotel. Every January since 1989, the festival celebrates international film. According to the Palm Springs International Film Society, the festival “features… the largest selection [of] Foreign Language Oscar® submissions of any festival in the nation.” Hosted by the Palm Springs International Film Society, the International Film Festival is one of many opportunities to promote cinema education and media as a diverse and wide-reaching art form. The Society promotes cross-cultural awareness and multicultural exchange to an ever expanding audience from around the world.

Dinner: At the hotel from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., enjoy a buffet dinner. This meal is at your leisure to allow flexibility to view other festival films.

Evening: We will have our second film critique session of the day. The remainder of the evening is at leisure.
