This is a beautifully organized trip. The gardens, architecture and lack views were spectacular. The leaders were knowledgeable and kind. I highly recommend this trip. Charity Goodman

Outstanding and informative program. Our guide Tess Clark was a delight. She lives in the Lake area and knows it well. If she did not know the answer to a question she got it for us. She responded to requests with a few freelanced side trips which were a delight.

If you want to explore outstanding gardens and historic homes and sites in areas beyond the south of England, this is a wonderful introduction to the very different landscapes of the Lake District and Yorkshire, with those beautiful lakes, mountains, dales, and moors. Besides gardens, the program touches on history of all kinds, including literary highlights. It provides great opportunities to talk to gardeners at the sights; all are first rate. This program is best if you appreciate gardens, though: if you'd rather be hiking or shopping or seeing other kinds of sights, you might look at a different option.

I felt like I'd been air dropped into a unique world. The visual intensity of the gardens and sites that we toured is almost indescribable. Road Scholar staff was knowledgable and personable. The experts who shared their vision and their devotion to their part of the world left a lasting impression. A truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This program is perfect for any garden lover of any ability level. So much information is imparted by excellent guides. Touring the countryside on comfortable vans is an added pleasure. The activity level is not strenuous but does include stairs.

If you love England and English gardens, this trip is a must. I have never seen so many shades of green or so many gorgeous flowers and trees. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales are earthly Edens and a joy to visit.
