The Great-American get-together in San Antonio was fun... I got to meet people from around the country and got to learn about San Antonio and about South Texas. Fredericksburg was an unexpected but delightful surprise, and we got to visit a working ranch for a barbecue. I enjoyed this trip immensely.

This is a very informative and interesting program describing the history of Texas from the time of the French, Spanish, and Mexican period thru the time of independence and then becoming a U.S. state. Don't miss it!

We were most impressed, with this our first Roads Scholar program. The very best part was our group leader, Janie-she could not have been more welcoming and caring. The speakers were so well-informed and we feel like we saw every aspect of San Antonio and loved the city!

Road Scholar trips are educational, fun, entertaining and affordable! The San Antonio trip met all our expectations! The riverwalk was fantastic, the lectures were interesting and informative, and the Drury Hotel was lovely and convenient to the riverwalk! My husband and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in seeing San Antonio!! We learned so much about the culture and history of that area. Visiting the LBJ ranch and his early home was a memorable part of our trip! We even had time to go to the Tower of America’s on our free time.

I went to San Antonio hoping to see new places, learn new things, and meet interesting people. The Great Getaway exceeded my expectations in these areas and more. Words cannot describe how great this program is; you must go experience it to understand.

The San Antonio trip was my first trip with Road Scholar, but it definitely will not be the last. I learned so much about the history of the area and visited many of the sites we had learned about during the informative morning lectures. Don't groan at the mention of a lecture ... you will thoroughly enjoy the lecture and wish that it had not ended. Go on a trip with Road Scholar and expand your horizons!

The program was most enjoyable, very educational and made especially good use of our time. I would give it high recommendations to anyone considering it. Experiencing San Antonio without this program would fall far short of learning so much there is to know about San Antonio!

What a fantastic trip! From the moment the travel department customized my air travel, to being met by a local Road Scholar rep at San Antonio airport I knew I was in good hands and the trip was off to a great start. Karen, our group leader, was super, with everything so well organized all went off without a hitch. I can't believe how well she had all 88 of us organized. I know its a team effort so kudos to all those behind the scenes people who helped pull it all together. Then there was Janie our team leader. That woman should get a medal!! Not only was she very knowledgeable about all the areas we toured but handled all our questions with tact and humour. She was a pleasure, just a pure pleasure! Last but not least was the venue of the Drury Riverwalk, which is located in the historic Alamo National Bank. The property and it's staff are great ambassadors for the city. I'm certainly planning on going on another "Great American Get-Together". Thanks again for such a fantastic trip!

Our San Antonio Program was wonderful. We learned about all aspects of San Antonio, the Texas Hill Country, and the LBJ Ranch. The Program was interesting, thorough, and efficient. We loved staying at the historic Drury Hotel, and other participants were friendly, interesting and delightful. It was overall a very positive experience which we would not have been able to duplicate if we had traveled independently. Great Program.

San Antonio is such an attractive city with lots to see. The program was very informative; giving me insights into things I wouldn't have noticed if I'd traveled there on my own. The other participants were fun and interesting to talk to. Very glad I went!
