Trescott
Heartwood Lodge is an educational conference center, not a hotel. Rooms are basic, but unique. The furniture in the room is custom built, each different from the others. Rooms features bunk beds (though no top bunks are used) of different configurations, some with a full bunk and three twin bunks, some with four twin bunks. There is a small desk and custom cabinets to store your belongings. Each room has its own bathroom. Bedding, bath linens and soap are provided. Fresh linens are available upon request throughout the week. The Lodge has a meeting room, a library, laundry facilities, a small kitchenette and is attached to a dining hall. Free Wi-Fi is available. A computer lab is available on campus for participants' use. Heartwood Lodge is not air-conditioned. The Lodge is built to be as energy efficient as possible. While the days do not generally heat up too much, by closing the blinds, the walls retain the night' cool air. There are fans in each room to accommodate those with a more sensitive reactive to any heat. Generally speaking, days are warm, nights are cool. Beautifully constructed private conference center on the campus of Cobscook Community Learning Center in Trescott, Maine. The Lodge, built as a retreat and conference center, was constructed in 2013-14 as a community dream project using local labor and local materials. You will see Maine's beautiful woods reflected in the abundant use of timbers throughout the Lodge. The Lodge is two stories, with 14 rooms, plus a studio apartment for artists in residence. Each room has a private bath. The Lodge is located on campus, surrounded by woods, nestled next a beautiful pond full of frogs. A short hike will lead you to the water's edge of Whiting Bay.
