This was a trip of a lifetime for me! The program was extremely well organized, the accommodations and meals above my expectations and our Tour Guide Augusto was the best! I will definitely travel with Road Scholar in the future.

Machu Picchu and the Galapagos are two not to be missed venues for travelers interested in our planet, its history and its creatures. Plan for and visit these unique places.

The trip was fantastic and our tour leader was terrific. I recommend taking it. I would take another RS trip. There were a couple things that could be improved though... I was unable to get into the discussion site until just shortly before the trip started. This happened even after I contacted support at least 3 times. It turns out that there were no discussion comments. Everyone I consulted on the phone was friendly and tried their best to help. But I was disappointed that much of the time questions before the trip could not be answered promptly. Staff had to consult others to get answers. Sometimes staff said I had to call another department. I'd rather have one specific contact handle everything. All in all the trip was great and we learned a lot. The staff works hard and produced a great product.

I highly recommend Machu Picchu and the Galapagos as a great experience especially with Augusto Salazar as the group leader. Excellent.

Once again, Road Scholar hit it out of the park with another bucket list program. An incredible trip that definitely keeps you on the go with long days and some really early wake-up calls (especially on flight days!), but worth every minute. Our group leader was excellent and we had a really compatible and interesting group of travelers to share our voyage with. Those first views of Machu Picchu are awe inspiring, but the hike can be challenging for us short-legged, short-of-breath folks. Exploring the Galapagos Islands with Nat Geo/Lindblad and their wonderful staff was just one reason for choosing this trip. You definitely get up close and personal with all the wildlife and it's a photographer's dream. Really enjoyed sampling all of the varied local cuisines and we were always well supplied with bottled water. And who knew a demonstration on oil painting restoration could be so fascinating, as just one of the many different museums and field trips that were part of this wonderful program. One of my favorite highlights was the mating ritual and courtship dance of the blue-footed boobies... just one of many special memories!

This trip was amazing in so many ways. Both destinations, Machu Picchu and the Galapagos, were on our bucket list and to get both on one itinerary was a bonus. The pairing of RS with NatGeo/Linblad is brilliant and was a real plus for us. The trip does require a LOT of travel - planes, buses, trains, and ship. We learned a lot throughout the two weeks and can recommend almost every aspect of the trip. The major thing I would add is that we would have loved extra time at the iconic Machu Picchu. It is large, mystical and beautiful.

Thank you Road Scholar for helping me fulfill a lifelong dream of visiting the Galapagos Islands and Machu Picchu! Our guides, the food, the accommodations and experiences were all truly amazing. The itinerary was well planned and it was amazing how easily our tour leader had us taking different flights, checking into hotels and enjoying each other. Only two of our 10 plus local guides were not 5 star guides/instructors. The National Geographic staff and ship was amazing!!! A lifetime experience indeed!!! I highly recommend this trip to anyone who doesn't want to plan an adventure like this on their own.
