Road Scholars at Sagamore Institute are invited to step back in time, staying in rustic buildings that were part of the original Vanderbilt estate. No two rooms are alike and bed configuration can vary. Participants have a choice of share or private bath. There are no telephones in rooms, no cell service and no TV, so relaxation is assured. All meals are included, served buffet style in the paneled dining room with splendid views of Sagamore Lake. In their free time, Road Scholars can hike the trails, play croquet, relax by the lake, or enjoy the spectacular main lodge with its great stone fireplace. Good to know: No TVs or cell service. Three guest phones available; prepaid calling cards required. Limited Wi-Fi internet access plus one guest computer. Housekeeping once a week. Most meals served buffet-style; bus own table.
