At a Glance

One of the nation’s most beautiful cities — one where roses grow naturally and downtown borders a 5,000-acre forest reserve — Portland is a city almost as famous for bicycle-friendliness as it is for green space. A well-developed network of bicycle routes links every part of the city, from Skidmore Fountain in Old Town to the city’s many picturesque parks. Take part in an extensive, two-wheeled exploration of downtown Portland. Bike along the Springwater corridor rails-to-trails path and by the lovely Willamette River. Refuel with culinary delights ranging from local favorites to a meal in the city’s oldest restaurant.
