At a Glance

One of the nation’s most beautiful cities — one where roses grow naturally and downtown borders a 5,000-acre forest reserve — Portland is a city almost as famous for bicycle-friendliness as it is for green space. A well-developed network of bicycle routes links every part of the city, from Skidmore Fountain in Old Town to the city’s many picturesque parks. Take part in an extensive, two-wheeled exploration of downtown Portland. Bike along the Springwater corridor rails-to-trails path and by the lovely Willamette River. Refuel with culinary delights ranging from local favorites to a meal in the city’s oldest restaurant.
Our Flex learning adventures offer more flexible schedules than our traditional programs, with ample independent time and several meals on your own. Enjoy the camaraderie of the group while also getting time to explore on your own.

Best of all, you'll ...

  • Visit Portland’s Saturday market, the nation’s largest weekly open-air arts and crafts markets.
  • Enjoy beers and wines local to Portland, home to more craft breweries than any other American city.
  • Explore Portland’s many gardens, as well as the fruits of a unique civic policy of promoting public art.
