Afternoon: CHECK-IN & REGISTRATION: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in the East House Lobby. Check-in and register with the Road Scholar program staff to receive your room assignment and informational packet with your name tag, updated schedule, and other important information that we will review during orientation. If you arrive late, please pick up your packet at the front desk of the East House Lobby.

Dinner: Dinner is in the East House Dining Room. Enjoy a bountiful buffet with entrées varying from turkey, pork, chicken, beef, and fish. Dinner will include a fresh salad bar, vegetables, potatoes, rolls, and dessert. All meals at The Warwick Conference Center include a vegetarian option.

Evening: (All itinerary details subject to change.) ORIENTATION: The on-site Road Scholar coordinator will greet you, introduce everyone, and provide key staff contact names and phone numbers. We will review the up-to-date daily schedule and any changes, cover responsibilities, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have, and provide an introduction to The Warwick Conference Center. The evening will conclude with light refreshments. Please be aware that program activities and schedule times could change due to weather and other local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible.

Breakfast: Wake up to a hearty breakfast buffet. Daily Entrées will rotate, but you can look forward to a variety of breakfast foods including scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, ham, bacon, oatmeal, toast, muffins, yogurt, cold cereal, and hot coffee, tea, and a variety of juices.

Morning: Begin this week with great anticipation as you discover your creative and artistic genius within. If you chose the medium of watercolor, be prepared to learn through a combination of demonstrations, individual help, and instructor/peer critiques. Develop the skills needed to transform vision into art. Learn about watercolors' many techniques as well as elements of composition, color, and line. With references to art history and contemporary painting, engage in a well-rounded watercolor experience. If you chose the medium of oils and acrylics, expect to receive pointers on developing good composition, creating clean color, and learning tips about perspective and the effects of light. Daily demonstrations and critiques help move your progress along quickly as you enjoy both indoor and outdoor painting sessions. With both of these learning opportunities at hand, you will gain confidence and challenge yourself to paint more boldly and fearlessly. Both of our artists-in-residence will each present an expert-led lecture this morning to each of their respective classes and offer guided opportunities for hands-on experiences.

Lunch: Enjoy a buffet lunch in the East House Dining Room with entrées including a variety of the following: soup, sandwiches, paninis, pasta, salad bar, and a dessert.

Afternoon: The Watercolor and Oils & Acrylics classes will resume in their respective Workshops with hands-on painting experience under the watchful eye of the artists who will encouragingly offer personal critiques. Enjoy a demonstration along with an expert-led lecture.

Dinner: A plentiful dinner will be served buffet style at 6:00 P.M. in the East House Dining Room.

Evening: The painting studios will be open for participants to enjoy hands-on experience as you continue to pursue developing new skills. Enjoy an evening snack and conversations sharing insights and observations at the end of a busy day.

Painting Classes, Field Trip to Pacem in Terris

Activity note: Requires walking on an un-even terrain.

Breakfast: Enjoy a hearty country breakfast served buffet style in the East House Dining Room.

Morning: The morning lecture by the artists will include a demonstration introducing a painting technique and then include a hands-on experience with expert guidance and critiques.

Lunch: Lunch served buffet style in the East House Dining Room.

Afternoon: An optional visit will be made to Pacem in Terris, a six-acre sculpture garden. Dr. Franck, a Dutch-born sculptor, painter, and author created Pacem in Terris, a retreat dedicated to peace and art. The garden contains some 70 large-scale sculptures in steel, stone, wood, and glass. Enjoy the sculpture garden and the grounds; and for those who wish, there is an opportunity to sketch and paint. The painting studios/ workshops will remain open for independent work.

Dinner: Dinner served buffet style at 6:00 P.M. in the East House Dining Room.

Evening: Return to the respective painting studios for a continuing demonstration/lecture in the mediums of watercolor and oils and acrylics and experience hands-on opportunities under the guidance of the artists. An evening snack will be served in the East House Dining Room to "top off" the day.

Painting Classes, Wine Tasting, Evening Performance

Breakfast: Enjoy a hearty country breakfast served buffet style in the East House Dining Room.

Morning: The artists-in-residence will offer an expert-led lecture/demonstration in their respective studios along with a directed hands-on experience.

Lunch: Lunch served buffet style in the East House Dining Room.

Afternoon: Return to your respective classrooms after a satisfying lunch for a lecture/demonstration followed by a directed hands-on painting experience. Free Time. Enjoy an optional trip for a wine tasting at a local winery,or continue to work on your painting skills in the painting Workshop, or enjoy an invigorating hike on The Warwick Center property.

Dinner: Dinner will be served buffet style in the East House Dining Room.

Evening: After a busy day painting, relax and enjoy an evening of entertainment. Conclude the evening with a delicious snack and good conversation with new friends.

Morning: Continue learning with an expert-led lecture and demonstration followed by a guided hands-on-experience.

Lunch: Lunch will be served buffet style in the East House Dining Room..

Afternoon: The artist-in-residence will offer a lecture along with a directed hands-on experience in painting. Conclude the afternoon with a visit from two local artists who will present a demonstration and offer an exhibit of personal paintings in both respective mediums - watercolor and oils and acrylics.

Dinner: Dinner will be served at 6:00 P.M. in the East House Dining Room.

Evening: Enjoy a time of "Show and Tell" with both the watercolor and oils & acrylic participants. Top off the day by making your own ice cream sundae at our ice cream social.
