Doug and Becky Neuman, local residents and owners of Ashland Springs Hotel, Larks Restaurant, Waterstone Spa and Lithia Springs Resort, together with a local partner have purchased Ashland Hills, formerly known as Windmill Inns of America. The Neumans have renovated the hotel to benefit all of Southern Oregon and bring a boost of vitality and life to the south side of Ashland. It boasts a convenient location at exit 14 along Interstate 5, close to Ashland’s downtown, theaters, lakes, wineries, and other Southern Oregon attractions. The hotel, originally designed by Portland architect Ralph Bonadurer, opened its doors as Ashland Hills Inn on June 1st, 1978. The owners’ plan is to resurrect not only the original name of the hotel, but also its vision. The Neumans were excited to find the original elements, such as tiles, wooden beams and globe lighting, which will be incorporated into the new design of the property – a fresh throwback to the late 1970s. Rooms are uniquely decorated with furniture designed specifically for the Neumans, and hand-picked features such as lamps and artwork. The hotel reopened after a complete renovation of its rooms and meeting facilities in spring 2014.
