A well-organized program highlighting the unique aspects of Charleston. We toured homes and churches in the historic district of the city and plantations/gardens in the surrounding Lowcountry. The guides and guest speakers were informative; the food was excellent; the location of the retreat center right across from the ocean was perfect. The enthusiasm and attentiveness of Pegi, our program leader, was much appreciated. Overall, a very positive and enjoyable experience.

The trip was a delight - from the learning to the field trips to the participants. The Coastal Retreat was welcoming and a lovely half block from the ocean. I recommend this trip highly.

This experience presents a picture of plantations from one which is undergoing preservation through to a working plantation still under cultivation with a family living in the main house. Lovely gardens, arching oaks over entrances, and Charleston "Single Houses". A wonderful week of southern charm!

THIS PROGRAM SHOWED US THE HIGHLIGHTS OF CHARLESTON AND THE NEARBY AREAS. THESE AREAS WOULD BE HARD TO FIND BY YOURSELF. THIS PROGRAM GAVE ME INSIGHT INTO THE DIFFERENT CULTURES AND HISTORY OF CHARLESTON.
