The rim to shore trip was a first for me. It was at the beginning of the rainy season. The weather was perfect. Not too hot. What a wonderful place

What a fantastic trip! For 9 of us, this was our first Roads Scholar trip. For all 11 of us, it was our first trip to Costa Rica. Eric Guzman was our guide. I just can't say enough good things about him. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, cheerful, accommodating, and just a joy to be with. Ronald Sergura was our driver. He was skillful, dependable, and pleasant. Both men went out of their way to make sure all our needs were met. If anything, they went above and beyond in offering us experiences that exceeded our expectations, including seeing Eric's home and meeting his parents and sister and offering early morning birding. Additionally, the hotels, the staff, the meals, and the wonderful itinerary were stellar. We saw and did so much - animals, plants, adventures. The four lectures were top-notch, as was the lecture in Tortugeura and at the Sea Turtle Conservancy. They deepened our knowledge of this wonderful country and contributed much to understanding what we were seeing. We all loved the coffee and chocolate tours! Our guides in kayaking, white water rafting, outrigger canoe paddling, zip lining, river boat ride in Tarcoles - all made sure we felt safe. They contributed much to our enjoyment of each of their adventures. Our meal at the home of one of your guides in San Jose was such a treat! On our own, we could never have packed in all that we did in this 10 day tour. And it never felt rushed. The scheduling was excellent. Certainly, I will be an ambassador for this Rim to Shore Multi-Sport adventure, which began at the breathtaking La Paz waterfall gardens and ended with a delightful video composite of our time together created by Eric. I hope that others will get to enjoy the company of Eric and Ronald. Thank you to both and thank you to Roads Scholar. Mona Hegarty

It was a very wonderful trip. The group seemed to jell quickly starting on the first day with a surprise birthday cake for one of the participants supplied by our guide. It was very active, but we expected it to be in order to get all the activities accomplished. We hiked, kayaked, snorkeled, canoed, rafted, zip lined, learned a lot about the history, culture, and animals of Costa Rica and laughed a lot.

Most excellent in every way! Reimer taught me to look beyond what I can see. This was a fabulous trip.

This program is a good introduction to the history and biodiversity of Costa Rica. I enjoyed all the sporting activities because of the balance it provides of "doing" along with learning. I loved the feeling of the program, summer camp for grown ups in Costa Rica.

The trip was one of the best of my life. The combination of wonderful activities, such as white water rafting, and kayaking, with viewing and learning about the flora and fauna of this very diverse country was perfect!

Each step of our trip was exceptionally well planned. Gilbert Chito Molina, our guide, was spectacular. He attended to every detail with care and enthusiasm. He was tireless throughout the entire trip. Rising before breakfast to go birding or zip lining through the forest all fit into the perfect tempo. Our group bonded quickly because of his pleasant leadership and expertise. Group members are still e-mailing one another. Enough cannot be said about the evening discussions regarding wildlife and culture. Planned lectures, dance lessons, kayaking etc. are now wonderful memories.

Our extraordinary trip was led by Raimer who went out of his way to search for and find birds including the Quetzal and Scarlet Macaw. Only a few days were moderately challenging. Food was excellent! Lectures were very well presented and quite informative. I suggest that more hiking be included in future itineraries.

This trip has a great combination of activities that range from environmentally educational to just plain fun. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to learn about the environment and culture of a Central American county.

My Costa Rican adventure with Road Scholar was a trip of a life time. The beauty of the country, thrilling activities such as zip lining and whitewater rafting, and the friendliness of the other tour participants were fantastic. I was so glad the trip took us to both coasts and we were able to see such a wide variety of eco systems. I learned a lot and made some wonderful new friends. Our guide, Erick Guzman, was truly exceptional. Erick's passion for nature and pride for his country were infectious. Pura Vida!

Gail
(5)

What a beautiful country full of diversity and happy people! Reimer Palma was our fantastic guide who went above and beyond our expectations to make the trip smooth and over-the-top awesome. The educational components were enlightening. The multi-sport activities were all safe and monitored and not intimidating. So much fun!!

What a fantastic and fun introduction to this beautiful country was this Road Scholar trip! We explored four major ecosystems - on foot, by boats, and zipping through treetops - observing myriad plants, animals, and exotic birds. While the scenery was spectacular and our group lively and fun-loving, what made this trip truly outstanding was the enthusiasm, knowledge, openness, and leadership ability of our tour guide, Erick Guzman. I learned so much about Costa Rica from Erick, and left the country wanting to know more. I'm already planning my next trip to Costa Rica, and will make certain that it's one led by Erick.

The Costa Rica multi-sport trip is fantastic and I recommend it to anyone who wants a variety of outdoor activities in a beautiful country. If you are thinking of going, make sure to try to schedule to go with the wonderful guide Erick Guzman. He is amazingly knowledgeable about all things Costa Rican: the flora and fauna, history, culture and people. His love for the natural world is infectious and his ability to spot a frog the size of your thumb hidden in the forest is astonishing. He provided us with the best travel experience we've ever had. There are so many fun things on this trip including kayaking, zip lining (scary but worth it), great hikes, and spotting an amazing variety of wildlife. All the accommodations were very good and the food, while redundant after a while, we plentiful and tasty. Many of the 14 participants were teary-eyed the last night because we'd had a great time and hated to say good-bye.

What a wonderful time we had. Erick Guzman (our guide also known to his countrymen as Eddie) is an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic teacher. We; white water rafted, kayaked, ziplined, hiked, snorkeled, paddled outrigger canoes, learned how to make chocolate and saw more wildlife then anyone would believe possible in that many days. And waking up to Howler Monkeys is so much better then a Hotel Wake Up phone call. Do it, just go the food and the adventure. And if you can do it with Erick you will have such a great time. He can spot a Blue Jeans frog smaller then 1/2 of a dime on a walk so we could see it.

Our Rim to Shore Costa Rican adventure was truly outstanding; due in large measure to the excellent variety of activities and the quality of our exceptional guide, Erick Guzman! I would highly recommend!

I've never been on a group tour before, so this was a new experience for us. We are so glad we made the decision to go with Road Scholars for our first visit to Costa Rica. Our Group Leader, Lenin, made this trip one to remember for a lifetime. we learned so much more about the country, the people, and the wildlife with his guidance. And, we had a lot of fun doing it! We loved all the activities packed into this trip. We will definitely look into another trip with Road Scholar in the future.

Candace

This was the trip of a lifetime. The outdoor, active activities were the best way to experience Costa Rica. DO take this trip and try to have Reimer Palma as your leader. You will have memories for a lifetime.

I just returned from Costa Rica and the " Rim to Shore" Adventure. This was an amazing and wonderful trip. It was my first Road Scholar experience and it could not have been better ! It was filled with great adventure activities, hiking and nature. We explored multiple areas of the country with a small group on a comfortable little bus. We were able to pack in so many different things in this 10 day trip. I loved the nature lodges on the Caribbean coast. The food was simple and great. And the best part of the trip was our wonderful guide Tomas. He was so knowledgeable about nature and his country and shared it with great joy and enthusiasm. All the adventure activities were just as described in the brochure and so much fun. Got to try out so many new things. I went as a solo traveler and always felt part of the group and welcomed by all. Road Scholar did an amazing job of planning and organizing so that everything went so smooth. Was a very active trip and that was just what I was looking for. I will definitely be booking more trips in the future. PURA VIDA !!

The Road Scholar experience was like no other. The professionalism and level of knowlege of guides and lecturers exceeded our expectations. This program was top notch from the airport pickup to the airport drop-off. The small group size was perfect as all of us became friends within a few days and we enjoyed each other's company. Activities were well organized for all of us, from those in their fifties to those in their eighties. The educational level of our leader, Reimer, was exceptional. What a wonderful young man! All in all, we can't wait to plan our next Road Scholar adventure.

I highly recommend Road Scholar's Costa Rica Multi Sport Adventure -it was our first Road Scholar trip and it exceeded all our expectations! We had a great group of "like minded" travelers and an outstanding tour leader in Reimer Palma! We loved the active agenda and all the adventure sports. What a fabulous, diverse country with warm, welcoming people and plenty of animals, birds, plants and other wild life.

This was a fantastic experience for us. First of all, Reimer Palma is a very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and caring guide. He built our group into a very good team over the 9 days we were together. The activities were outstanding. We might have liked longer hikes and kayaking, but overall were very pleased with them. The hotels were also very good. But the first hotel, Rincon del Valle, is too far from the airport. We landed at 4:30 and it took till 7:15 to get from the airport to the hotel, well after the program started, due to rush hour traffic, which apparently occurs nightly. My one other complaint was with Selva Verde lodge -- they use very loud leaf blowers to clean up in the afternoon and had a construction project on site that was using a metal saw for hours. So no siesta for us that day... Tortuguero lodge and Punta Leone lodge were both excellent. The food throughout was better than I expected. I am definitely recommending this one to all my friends!

The Costa Rica multi-sport adventure exceeded all expectations. A wonderful mix of varied activities with educational experiences, immersion in a culture, the wildlife and a country that is making critical decisions about preserving biodiversity for our planet. Spectacular accommodations, fresh and abundant meals, more colorful flora and fauna than one could imagine.

Julie
(5)

This was an amazing trip. To have gotten to feel a part of Costa Rica and its example to the world on environmental issues was a privilege. We zip-lined, canoed, white water rafted and learned how to make the best chocolate ever, all under the expert guidance of our group leader, Lenin Duarte.

Mary

this was my first "outing" solo and Road Scholar made it seamless, fun, comfortable. Will definitely travel with them again

This is a fabulous overview of the many diverse parts of Costa Rica. The activities were enjoyed by everyone in our group and helped build the camaraderie amongst us. The staff/guides for the sports activities were fun and professional, ensuring we had a great experience. Our guide, Tomás was incredibly organized, knowledgeable and very personable. The entire trip was absolutely fantastic. Do come prepared with a rain poncho though...rainforests are aptly named. Having said that, the visit to Tortuguero is not to be missed!

This was my first RS tour. The Costa Rica Rim to Shore trip was wonderful. The tour guide, Erik, was amazingly knowledgeable about the wildlife, birds, plants, culture and the country of CR in general. He was highly efficient and fun. George, (learning the ropes on this tour) was also excellent in every way. His knowledge of birding, culture and politics in Costa Rica was both educational and entertaining. Our bus driver (sorry I've forgotten his name) kept us on time and safe. He deserves a medal and raise because I had left my wallet on the bus the very last evening so I was in a panic. Erik contacted him and he made a very long trip back to the hotel that evening to bring it back to me. I cannot thank him enough. Everyone in the group was so nice and easy to travel with. Food was great, all the events great, weather great, losing great, etc etc all GREAT! I have no complaints and am looking forward to another trip. Thank you, RS, for being everything you are said to be.

Our January 8-18th multi-sport adventure in Costa Rica was fabulous! Erick is an exemplary leader. Be sure to follow the excellent packing advice given in information packet by packing lightly with quick-drying clothes and a travel umbrella. Thanks to all our Costa Rican leaders and my fellow participants for an amazingly enjoyable and exciting vacation!

Michael
(5)

An outstanding trip for anyone seeking adventure, education, and the beauty that is Costa Rica. From the rain forests to the mountains, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, this tour covers it all. Erick Guzman is the finest leader/guide we have ever been associated with and his expertise and humor made the trip even more special.

Keld

This program takes you through a great variety of landscapes in only a few days. The activities in the forest, on the river and on the ocean are not very strenuous and allowed you to see Costa Rica's wealth of animals and plants.

Joe

This Rim to Shore Multi-Sport Adventure was outstanding. Not only was it educational and informative about this part of the world but also included great activities from white water rafting to zip lining. The effort from our guide Reimer was outstanding and greatly appreciated.

Road scholar Rim to Shore program in Costa Rica I highly recommend to all those adventure and active minded enthusiasts. This will be the most memorable vacation I have ever been on. Taking with me the beautiful County, humble people, and diverse species of animals and reptiles that live in this tropical paradise. The natural waterfalls are so powerful! Pura Vida!

Margaret

Great program! Fun activities, terrific guide and super travelling companions. There were only twelve of us, which was the perfect size.

Suzanne
(5)

If you are able, you MUST take this trip! The activities and tours were fabulous! I'm an experienced traveler, yet this was the MOST FUN I have ever had on a tour! I'm also a solo traveler and felt completely included by the guide and fellow Road Scholars.

an ordinary trip made extraordinary with instructors and especially our guide

(5)

I'm a bit late in doing this (5 months late!) but I did want others to read how pleased my wife and I were with this Road Scholar trip, our first. The trip combined learning, activity, leisure and, well, excitement. The wildlife--birds, amphibians, monkeys, birds and birds--were memorable. Our guide was Erick Guzman and he couldn't have been a better guide for us. He made everyone feel welcome, solved whatever minor issues came up effortlessly, had an incredible knowledge and love for his home country that we all got to enjoy. The activities--kayaking, white-water rafting, hikes, outrigger canoeing, snorkeling, and a few I'm forgetting--all were as hoped for. The lectures, either at night or during our visits to coffee plantation or chocolate plantation were interesting and rewarding. And we had a few great unscheduled experiences, meeting a family in Tortuguero was a highlight. I'm on the site right now looking to book our next Road Scholar trip.

Mary Lou
(5)

The guide for this program, Erick Guzmann, is incredible! The program was exactly as described and the weather was wonderful. I highly recommend this program and this guide!

Victoria
(5)

This trip offered an optimal variety of activities with enough diversity to keep me engaged. I learned a lot about the culture, agriculture, biodiversity, and natural resources vital to Costa Rica. The guide (Erick Guzman) and driver (Henry) were both amazing! They exceeded my expectations by displaying flexibility to accommodate the needs of everyone in the group. Erick is very knowledgeable and led excellent nature walks. Henry displayed his expertise by safely traversing the bumpy, narrow and windy Costa Rican roads. I left Costa Rica with new friendships and an intent to return. This was also my first Road Scholar trip and will not be my last. Wonderful memories!!

We recently participated in Costa Rica Rim to Shore experience. We highly recommend this excellent active program and guide Erick Guzman! From hiking and kayaking to zip lining and white water rafting to Latin dancing - great guide, welcoming travel companions- awesome trip!

David
(5)

This program provided a great introduction to the varying aspects of Costa Rica. Visiting both sides of the country, as well as the middle highlands, provided a great feel for the variety in Costa Rica. The physical activity level was not particularly aggressive either. Our guide was excellent.

Anita
(5)

This trip was a super value! The activities were just right and very safe. Erick was generous with his time and knowledge, and Chicho was the best driver (plus, the air conditioning worked well in his bus). The trip got me out of my comfort zone which was my goal along with learning more about Costa Rica, a country I'd only heard about from others and only with respect to birds. I might take up birding now that I've seen Costa Rica's colorful and diverse assortment. The fresh fruits and vegetables at every meal made it easy to eat healthily. Accommodations were far better than I would have arranged on my own. The humidity existed, for sure, but nothing a few showers a day couldn't take care of. Overall, we really lucked out on the weather. It was considered the end of the dry season. It rained buckets on the arrival day (May 8) but only at night a few times after that and one morning before we headed out. Everything exceeded my expectations. And, as always, the group of fellow Road Scholars were well-traveled and outgoing. Such a great trip!

Gail
(5)

What a wonderful adventure based trip that visits three unique areas in the country. Wildlife, frogs, birds, monkeys, sloths, crocodiles and two types of macaws, oh my!!paddle in a raft, hike, zip, and kayak your way across beautiful Costa Rica!!

Thanks Road Scholar for a fabulous trip! Our Costa Rica Rim to Shore Adventure trip went well above and beyond our expectations. We will be back for more!

Costa Rica: Rim to Shore is an excellent way to visit such a wonderful country. Our guide, Eric, was the best ever and our driver, Omar was excellent and polite. The activities are varied and the length of the trip is perfect. You will not be disappointed if you go on this trip. Pura Vida!

I highly recommend this wonderful program. We saw a lot of wildlife and had so many great sport activities in the rivers, forests, and ocean. It was fun, educational, and enlightening. Every day was special. The tour guide (Erick Guzman) was outstanding.

Great value for your money spent on a Road Scholar trip! A wonderful learning experience for not just oneself but as a group, too.

Susan
(5)

This was our first trip with Road Scholar, and it was fantastic! We'd always heard great things about Costa Rica, and we were intrigued by the mix of activities on this trip. Our guide, Erick Castro, was terrific: funny, knowledgeable, and patient. He clearly loved his country and helped all of us to understand why. We got to visit places as varied as Tortuguero on the Caribbean coast -- a place renowned for sea turtle nests -- and the sunny Pacific coast. The accommodations were very good, and in many places we were able to see wildlife ranging from macaws, sloths, tree frogs, and monkeys on the actual grounds of the accommodations. The hikes were interesting and not too challenging, but my favorite activities were ziplining, sea kayaking and snorkeling on the Pacific coast. We also loved getting to know the others in our group. We had a mix of individuals from varied backgrounds, but within a couple of days, it felt as though we'd known each other for years. I highly recommend this trip for anyone who loves nature, adventure, and learning!

John
(5)

Great trip! Good balance of sporting events and seeing the natural wonders of Costa Rica. Zip lines, yes. River rafting was more exciting that I expected, other activities all well done and interesting. Tour guide Ramier was exceptional--always there and knowledgeable with a good sense of humor to boot. Bus was comfortable, lodging in very pretty places, lots of time fooling around on boats which was enjoyable. One more sport we found was ping pong at the last resort so we were glad we brought our paddles too. Fun group and we all got along well and got to know each other. John (harmonia) Greaves

Cheryl
(5)

Erick and Reimer were a delightful team, really relying on the best of each other's strengths. If I knew that all road scholar programs had the same high quality of instructors I would engage in many more.

Jon
(5)

We just returned home from a trip of a lifetime in Costa Rica thanks to Road Scholar and especially our guides. The trip far exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to visit Costa Rica. This trip will not be our last Road Scholar excursion.

This tour combines fun physical activities - like kayaking, hiking and zip lining -with the opportunity - through a caring and informative guide - to learn more about nature: birds, insects, reptiles, mammals and plants. I was so glad that I went!

Cynthia
(5)

A positive whirlwind of learning experiences! Can't recommend this program highly enough, especially if you have the good fortune to have Reimer Paloma as your guide to introduce you to the natural wonders of Costa Rica's flora and fauna.

Lee
(5)

Absolutely fantastic trip! Guide Reimer Palma was unbelievable, incredible group of participants and just a wonderful journey!

Denice
(5)

This program provided me an opportunity to experience a variety of aspects of Costa Rica in a short amount of time. The multi-sport experiences were fun and I felt safe! The accommodations at Tortuquero's Pachira Lodge particularly immersed me into the rainforest.

Kathy
(4)

Costa Rica is a beautiful, welcoming country. We enjoyed our vigorous hikes, the coffee plantation, kayaking, white water rafting, Zip lining all the great events we participated in while on our visit. Mostly we LOVED our guide Erick Guzman!!! The best!

Robert
(5)

This trip did not disappoint. We got far more out of this trip than we ever could have by ourselves. The trip leader and accommodations were wonderful. If you want to truly experience Costa Rica, this is the trip for you.

David
(5)

This was a fun and educational program and exceeded all my expectations. The program guide Luis Vargas is outstanding (knowledgeable, fun, informative, etc) and a key reason for the high quality of the program. I hike every week and after this program I will certainly be more in tune with the environment around me.

Linda
(5)

Calling all nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts! This trip was a perfect mix of physical activity and environmental education. Our leader, Luis Vargas, was one of the best of the 20 RS trips I've taken. I highly recommend it for physically fit participants who are interested in learning about the flora, fauna, and ecosystems of Costa Rica.

Barbara
(5)

Wonderful trip. Luis our guide could not have been better! Great fun, with lots of wildlife to see and wonderful countryside. Learned much about biodiversity, sustainability of nature and the challenges our planet is facing. We will never view our surroundings in the same way again.

Carol
(5)

Great trip! One of the hikes was quite challenging due to heat, humidity and slippery soil, but well worth it. Bring a pair of smart wool socks to wear with boots provided and quick dry clothing is quite helpful. We never broke out the raincoats.

Richard
(5)

A wonderful overview of Costa Rica with an active slant.

Kathryn
(5)

Costa Rica Rim to Shore Multi-Sport Adventure is a fantastic eco-tour of the country. You will get hot and wet, but the sites and experiences are memorable. Our group leader was Tomas Calleja and he was energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable - he has set the bar high for all future leaders. This trip was a dream come true and I am so glad to have made it.

Scott
(5)

This program hit the spot! We were busy, active and saw a great sample of what Costa Rica has to offer. The lodges and food were very good and our guide was exceptional.

Donna
(5)

well this is interesting! before this tour i called Roadscholar more than once about reviews and tips from previous participants. I was told none were currently available which I thought strange and now even more so!! Overall this was a great experience largely due to the superior tour "guide" participants should be aware that timetable are often a bit tight and there is not much time for just sitting around after meals and chatting. although there are caveats re the travel times required I did not find this a concern at all. There is so much to look at and questions seemed always to be answered and even welcomed. Re $--don't buy a lot of colones. US dollars accepted easily and at reasonable exchange rates. Accomodatons fine if a bit like our (usa) motels in some spots. also do not depend upon in room refrigeration even if there is a cooling unit in the room.

Dan
(5)

We tried this program, our first experience with Road Scholar, on the recommendation of friends who'd done it last year. It exceeded our expectations. It offered us a wide variety of activities and experiences. We will do more!

Sher
(5)

The "Rim to Shore" Roads Scholar trip to Costa Rica was wonderful beyond words. I had never been to Costa Rica nor done a Roads Scholar trip and I cannot say enough good things about both of them. The trip was fabulous in terms of education , fun activities, fantastic locations and food, meeting new friends, AND having Erick for a guide!! He obviously loves his country and presents it in a most appealing way!

Elizabeth
(5)

I loved the variety of activities and many opportunities to see wildlife in their natural surroundings.

Lynne
(5)

This is a terrific program! Lots of physical activities like white water rafting and ziplining are balanced with nature walks and short lectures. Erick Guzman was a fabulous guide. His knowledge of birding and his willingness to share it added so much to the trip. Cannot say enough good things about Erick's leadership. Accommodations and food was superb. Transportation from one point to another always went smoothly. An extremely well organized trip and a delightful experience!

Margaret
(5)

Costa Ricans are generally happy people who want to please. We saw this attitude all over the country. The idea of Pura Vida is really an attitude of gratitute for the world we live in. How refreshing to think that way.

Judy
(5)

Fabulous adventure! Had Reimer as our guide and one of the nicest and knowledgeable guides ever. Don't hesitate to do this great trip. No kayaking experience was necessary. Take good hiking shoes and good water shoes. Lightweight clothes that breath and dry quickly. Shorts that have pockets. Small backpack or hiking fanny pack to carry water, binoculars, and bug repellent. Super fabulous trip. DO IT !

Jere
(5)

This multi sport trip is a fantastic introduction to Costa Rica and the abundance of life in the country. The Tico's are incredibly welcoming. The wildlife is unbelievably diverse. The food is delicious. This trip is a wonderful taste of all these aspects of Costa Rica. Be prepared to get lots of good physical excerise!!

Julia
(5)

Wonderful mix of activity and education. The mix of bird watching and immersion in surroundings went well with the physical nature of rafting, zip lining, hiking, snorkeling and kayaking. Considering the distance covered the amount of activity is impressive and breaks up the riding.

Caldwell
(5)

The program was everything I hoped it would be and more. It was educational, exciting, physically challenging and most of all it provided an opportunity to meet great people and learn about a wonderful country. All of this was made possible by our outstanding guide Erick Guzman. He was the absolute best!

Mary
(5)

We loved our adventure to Costa Rica! We traveled during the dry season and we had 10 days of glorious weather. The trip activities were exciting, pushing me out of my comfort zone, and I loved every minute. Erick Guzman was our group leader and he was great! His knowledge of the country and its people, his charismatic personality and his kindness enriched our travel time, and quite honestly, will enrich my life forever. Thanks Erick!

I have taken two trips with Road Scholar. Both trips have been enjoyable and educational. I hope to take more multi sport trips while I am able to partake in these activities.

Multi-sport Costa Rica was a lot of fun. Everyday had two or three adventures that involved exercise and seeing wildlife. Everyday also included plenty of time for sleep in luxurious hotel rooms and lots of time to enjoy three outstanding meals. Can't beat that combination! We got wet, and laughed and were exhilarated, then had plenty of time to dry off and relax. the guide was such a nice guy, kind and very organized.

What a great trip! I toured in early December, 2016. Much more than I expected. Our guides, Eric and Ramier were amazing.our driver, Enrique was skillful, helpful and so friendly. THESE GUYS MADE OUR TRIP OUTSTANDING!! Accommodations, food, lecturers and the Costa Rican people were supreme. Our small group was friendly and easy to travel with.I hope they enjoyed the trip as much as I. If you enjoy adventure, the outdoors and caring people....take this tour.

This program was wonderful. Full of a variety of activities and learning opportunities. Ronald, our bus driver, and Erick G., our guide, made a great team! They shared, with pride, their beautiful country- the rainforests, the animals and the friendly fun people! There was a great balance of group activities, lectures and free time. I would highly recommend this trip!!

This trip exceeded my expectations. Our guide, Erick Guzman, was terrific, and he showed great knowledge and enthusiasm. We found ourselves part of a great group of people with whom we intend to keep in touch. The plant and animal life we saw on the trip was astounding. Be aware though, that if you go in the rainy season, the humidity can be overpowering and can amplify the physical nature of the activities. This is definitely a trip for people who are in reasonable physical shape. I'm 62 years old and work out on a regular basis, and I found some of the hiking activities a challenge due to the heat, humidity and terrain. Having said that, there were people in our group in their late 70s who were able to handle the activity level. The food and accommodations were above average throughout the trip.

"From Rim to Shore" was fantastic, largely because of its very knowledgeable leader, Erick Guzman and its active multi sports program including kayaking, hiking, white water rafting. Costa Rica is welcoming and is a beautiful country, rich in natural resources. We loved it's philosophy of "Pure Vita" - life is fleeting, enjoy it! It helped that we had a very congenial group of 12 who plan to keep in touch and perhaps travel together again.

I highly recommend the Costa Rica Multisport adventure. Enjoyable activities even in the rainy season. Erick Guzman proved to be a particularly knowledgeable and skilled guide.

Moderately challenging is a good description of this program. New activities for me were ocean kayaking, flying through the air on a canopy tour, and watching giant green turtles coming ashore, laying eggs, and heading back to sea. This was rainy season, so depending on your weather preference plan accordingly.

This tour was the best vacation my wife and I have ever had. Everything was 5 star - and the tour group leader (Eric Guzman) was way way above the expectations we had. He has an amazing skill set that uniquely qualifies him as an amazing guide. The activities, field trips, and lectures were all excellent. We highly recommend you take this tour of Cost Rica - especially if you can get Eric as your leader.

Nearly perfect vacation! There were sporting adventures every day with an emphasis on the ecological diversity of Costa Rica all along the way. I am now really enamored of the less commercialized eastern side of the country.

How can you top the Costa Rica Multi-Sport Adventure? This trip provided a unique opportunity to explore the natural wonders of Costa Rica while being physically active hiking, whitewater rafting, zip lining, and kayaking. Our fabulous guide, Erick Guzman, an experienced and highly observant naturalist, helped us not only discover camouflaged birds and animals, but marvel at their characteristics and place in the ecosystem. This experience has enriched my life!
