Your website reviews are almost universally 5-star and very positive. There's not much point in writing an honest review that won't be published. I learned that from my first RS trip.

This trip helps us enjoy the beauties of nature -- rivers, forests, mountains -- all around. Well planned and traveled. Thanks to the leader and all presenters. The great weather helped, too.

This was a wonderful experience, very well organized by Ryan Curtis our group leader. David Lukas, our study leader, was so knowledgeable and informative. Both were friendly and helpful. I love the Pacific Northwest and this trip showed its varied beauty and history. The group members were a delightful inspiration. Thank you, Road Scholar.

Faces of Oregon: Mt. Hood, Columbia River Gorge & the Coast was a great trip. I felt very comfortable with the group and the accommodations and the selections of sites. Oregon is a beautiful state, and we got a wonderful sample of attractions near Portland, our home base. Well planned trip!

I knew nothing about Portland and the Columbia River except what I had read in the only book I could get through my library system. I now really like the area and would not mind going back.

I enjoyed this trip very much. Our group leader was Susan Wolfe. She was gracious, patient and handled any crisis with ease and resourcefulness. Out main instructor Joseph Couture knew quite a few facts and let us know everything about Oregon, however his demeanor could be abrupt at times and he was not kind to the bus driver at first. I personally felt I wanted a fact checker to ensure everything Joe was telling us was exact. Also, I did not want to her over and over and over about the demise of Oregon due to a volcano and tsunami. I know he is very concerned about this, but enough was enough. Vince made an excellent presentation about the history of Oregon. Eric's tour could be kept moving while he was talking at a slightly less gallivanting pace. It was too much information about architecture. I loved Tod's presentation and though I know it was a talk about the wine of Oregon and not a marketing tool for him, it would have been nice if he had brought his product with him for some of us who would have like to take it home. It was alot of time on the bus but we got adequate breaks. The places we went to visit were fantastic. A wide variety of activites. The catering at the hotel was fabulous and Timberline lodge was beautiful. I would have enjoyed some other place for dinner besides Huber's though I didn't have the turkey. It was attached however to a beautiful boutique hotel. The participants were absolutely fabulous and I met some new friends that I hope I will be traveling with in the future. It would have been nice if a sheet had been passed around for those who wanted to share their email and phone and then the sheet could be coped and distributed at the end. Also, a better system is needed for accounting for everyone. I would have given everyone a number on their name tage so they wouldn't forget it and then we could just count off. All together I give this a A- as a a recommended program.

This program combines scenic beauty with Portland's urban charms. We learned a lot about the Lewis and Clark expedition while traveling along the Columbia River where they journeyed over 200 years ago.

Enjoyed the experience. Oregon is such a beautiful state and so environmental. Coordinator-Jenny did a great job. Frankly I was not as pleased with the presenters.
