This was a superb hiking program! The hikes were challenging and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The program leaders, Jan and Addy, were encouraging, inspiring, and fun to be with. The hikes were planned out very well, with increasing elevation and difficulty, enabling those of us who were not accustomed to hiking at 12,000 feet to accomplish that lofty goal. The accomodations were very pleasant and the food was quite good. And I really enjoyed the camaraderie of the women-only program (note to Road Scholar: please consider providing more women-only hiking programs!). To fully enjoy this program you will definitely need a good cardio base to tackle the longer hikes at high altitude. And you'll need to be able to get up & head out in the very early morning hours ... but it's so worth it!
