He has shared his knowledge of oceanography, fossils, rocks and minerals during his career as a high school science educator in New Jersey, and has received numerous awards for outstanding teaching. He a member of the Sarasota Shell Club, Manasota Fossil Club and the Gulf Coast Mineral, Fossil & Gem Club of Venice.
