Great number of interesting stops on this cruise, and the ship is excellent.
This program is a stimulating winter getaway. The ship is very efficiently run, with good food and service. The ports are varied, ranging from a desert island to a vibrant city and, of course the Panama Canal. Traveling with a congenial group and excellent leader add to the pleasure. I especially remember some wonderful dinners and accompanying discussions.
Holland America company provides almost the same excursions and much info about each city as you arrive at each port - map of town, hour lecture about Panama Canal excellent, on board TV highlights history of city and all the sights to see, easy to reserve a shore excursion for reasonable price on your own or before departure online, buses are right at the ship, and usually no extra for single traveler. No need to pay $2000 extra for Road Scholar to repeat same info. Stated no one in wheelchair can join but Road Scholar permitted passenger to use a push walker which slows down on foot tour.
Road Scholar is to be commended. The cruise was even better than we could have expected. Our group leader was an expert on the areas we visited and her onboard sessions were entertaining and informative.
What a great way to take a cruise! All the details, shore excursions, arrival/departures were taken care of by RoadScholar. Our Group Leader was exemplary! We learned so much more than we would have if we had gone on our own.
