We ride the chartered bus approx 40 minutes to the Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stroll through the Southern Highland Craft Guild's Permanent Collection exhibit highlighting significant pieces from the 1880s to the present, including work discussed in yesterday's history overview, enjoy 2 craft demonstrations & the extensive gallery. Re-board the bus for a short ride to the heart of downtown Asheville and the Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands, established 1948, at its current location inside the U.S. Cellular Center, originally the Asheville Civic Center.
Enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants or cafes of downtown Asheville NC.
During the Craft Fair enjoy live craft demonstrations both inside & outside the venue, concerts by local groups, educational displays and demonstrations by local ikebana, quilting and weaving groups, along with over 100 booths of work by juried members of the Southern Highland Craft Guild.
