Activity note: Walk across the street to the beautiful lakeside Stuart Auditorium for the opening night performances of Folkmoot!

Afternoon: Check-In at The Terrace Lobby from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Registration and Orientation to the action-packed schedule for the next couple of days. Visit www.folkmootusa.org to see the 2016 line-up of performers!

Dinner: Dinner in Hotel dinning room overlooking the lake. All meals served buffet style.

Evening: Walk across the street to Stuart Auditorium for the Grand Opening of all performing international groups.

Activity note: boarding van, short walk downtown, standing, possible dancing.

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast in hotel dining room

Morning: Take 15 passenger luxury vans to downtown Waynesville for the Parade of Nations featuring all international groups this morning. We travel to downtown Main Street, Waynesville for the Parade of Nations, all the visiting dance troupes and bands with their gorgeous traditional costumes parade down the street & give min-performances.

Lunch: On your own with the International Food Trucks at the Folkmoot Friendship Center.

Afternoon: After watching others dance, join in the fun with dance workshops and demonstrations at the Folkmoot Friendship Center. We enjoy an afternoon at the sharing Cultures event at the Folkmoot Friendship center , a lovingly restored 1940's school building in the village of Hazelwood. Dance lessons, international craft and food trucks are all a part of the afternoon offerings. Sample exotic offerings at food trucks and enjoy fine craft and cheer on a Cherokee stickball game.

Dinner: Buffet dinner in hotel dining room

Evening: Enjoy entertainment with Marilyn McMinn McCredie, an Appalachian storyteller. Her stories and style will have you in stitches with laughter.

Lake tour, cultural conversation lunch & group performances.

Activity note: Boarding a trolley/boat, short trip downtown.

Breakfast: Buffet breakfast in hotel dining room

Morning: Enjoy a boat ride and history of Lake Junaluska (a trolley tour if the weather is inclement). Then, take the vans to Waynesville for lunch.

Lunch: Lunch with Folkmoot staff, International guests and local residents, followed by group discussion of similarities and differences of participating cultures.

Afternoon: We have a question and answer forum with the dancers, learning more about their culture and customs. The dancers will then give a private performance. Enjoy more splendid music & dance performances by some of the very people you shared a meal and discussions with at lunch.

Dinner: Banquet dinner in the dining room overlooking scenic Lake Junaluska.

Evening: Entertainment/Performance by a local performer.
