Enjoy a true behind-the-scenes look of Folkmoot USA, an international folk festival steeped in tradition and dedicated to the celebrating the cultures of countries around the world through music and dance. Folkmoot (an Old English word meaning “meeting of the people”) has featured performers from more than 100 countries since its inception in 1984! Attend performances, participate in a workshop with one of the groups and even learn a folk dance.

Flora MacDonald Gammon
Teacher,singer and instrumentalist, Flora is an interpreter of Scottish and Appalachian traditional folk music. She serves as Music Director for the Grandfather Highland Games and is a Director on the Folkmoot USA Board. Flora, who graduated from East Carolina University, was named Celtic Woman of the Year in 2008 for her efforts to share her Scottish heritage. She enlivens history with song as a visiting artist in schools and as an Road Scholar instructor.
