Activity note: All activities this evening will be at hotel.

Afternoon: Registration and check-in will be from 3-5 PM in the lobby of the Hampton Inn, Nashville, TN

Dinner: Dinner at downtown Nashville restaurant. We will meet in the lobby of hotel at 5 PM and walk together for a few blocks for this meal.

Evening: Introduction to the History of Country Music by Dr. Don Cusic at Hampton Inn

Activity note: This day includes a trip on the General Jackson and an evening at the Grand Ole Opry. Considerable walking is required if you want to take advantage of all activities.

Breakfast: Breakfast in dining area of Hampton Inn - if you require gluten free food for breakfast, please notify the front desk on arrival and check-in.

Morning: Dr. Cusic will continue his discussion of the history of Country Music

Lunch: River cruise on the General Jackson with meal and country music show. We cannot guarantee that buffet will be gluten free.

Afternoon: Following the cruise on the General Jackson, we will board a private shuttle to the Opryland Hotel where you will ride on the river which runs through the Delta area of the hotel where you will enjoy a relaxing tour of that area with all of the fountains, waterfalls and plants while learning something of the history of the hotel which is the largest non-casino hotel in the country

Dinner: Dinner at Venue near Opry on your own.

Evening: Attend the Friday night performance of the Grand Ole Opry. We will be seated in Level III seats either upstairs or downstairs (best available at time of purchase) in the Grand Ole Opry. This is a live radio show from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

Activity note: This day includes a tour of Belmont Mansion (pre-Civil War) with lunch in Grand Salon; a tour of Country Music Hall of Fame; walking tour of Honky Tonks in downtown Nashville; and ends with recording (will take home CD) in an area recording studio.

Breakfast: Breakfast in dining area of Hampton Inn. See comment for Tuesday regarding gluten free.

Morning: Self guided tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Armed with maps, directions, and descriptions of the venues, participants will have the opportunity to visit Honky Tonks, Hatch Printing, Wildhorse Saloon, Ernest Tubb Record Shop, the Ryman Auditorium, and other venues. Walking distance to the farthest venue is under 4 blocks, most much closer.

Lunch: Lunch at Belmont University and a tour of Belmont Mansion led by Mark Brown, Executive Director of Mansion.

Afternoon: Dr. Cusic will discuss contemporary trends in Country Music and the business side of the industry (Copyright, royalties, etc.).

Dinner: Dinner at Belmont University.

Evening: Spend some time in a Nashville recording studio. Learn how a song is recorded. Group will record a song and you will have a copy to take home.

Ryman Auditorium, Program Concludes

Activity note: Behind-the-scenes tour of the historic Ryman Auditorium or Grand Ole Opry backstage. These venues alternate subject to availability.

Breakfast: Breakfast in dining area of Hampton Inn. See comment on Tuesday for gluten free options.

Morning: Guided tour of Backstage at the Ryman

Lunch: A box lunch will be provided for participants.

Afternoon: Program ends upon return from the Ryman Tour.
