Touring two lighthouses will include walking a quarter mile to various sites and climbing stairs. Then boarding a water taxi for a ten minute ride and walking one mile round trip at a slight incline to get to Blackistone Lighthouse.

9:00 a.m. Board a private bus at the Holiday Inn and head to St. Clement's Island Museum on Coltons Point the site where colonists first landed in Maryland. Board a water taxi to reach St. Clements Island and meet your expert guide who will tell history and stories of this island and original lighthouse as you walk to the Blackistone lighthouse. Along the way you will notice a large white cross, a memorial to the first colonists who sought religious toleration. Take the opportunity to imagine living in the original lighthouse from 1848 as you visit the exact replica built in 2008.
12:30 p.m. lunch at a local restaurant in St. Mary's County.
2:00 p.m. The bus will take us to Piney Point Lighthouse, another lighthouse built by John Donahoo and the surrounding area. Take a short walk to the lighthouse where an expert will eagerly describe its history and allow you to climb to the top for a view of the Potomac River. Rotate through two other exhibits that depicts life on the Potomac River before returning to the Holiday Inn.
6:00 p.m. Enjoy a wonderful barbeque dinner from Boomerangs Restaurant in the museum’s third floor lounge.
7:00 p.m. Bob Stevenson from the Chesapeake Chapter, United States Lighthouse Society will present a talk on the significance of lighthouses on the Chesapeake Bay.
