This was a wonderful program. We did daily hikes in the Columbia River area through lovely forests in Oregon and Washington--incredibly beautiful. The leaders were great, and the group was fun and friendly. If you love hiking and spending time in lush, waterfall-rich scenery, you'll enjoy this program!

This was a great program; the hikes were designed to showcase the best aspects of the Pacific Northwest. The leaders Ken and Nancy were so accommodating and prepared. Steve was a fantastic addition to the leadership team; very entertaining as well as informative. Highly recommend this trip even for novice hikers.

This trip was very well organized and led. They did an excellent job of offering varied lengths of hiking options and describing the options of each day well so it was easy to make the daily choice. It was a great value and there were no "surprises" in cost or what was offered. The educational presentations made the trip "come alive" in both history and in recognizing the animals and plants and appreciating their place in the ecosystems and in our lives (ie, what we use the plants for)The leaders went over and above to exceed my expectations and make it an amazing trip! I am now hooked on Road Scholar trips and will be doing many more in the future.

It is such a pleasure to be on a hiking trip in a new area for me, and end up feeling like we all knew each other and loved the same outdoor experiences as well as all the learning that took place. Thanks, Ken and Steve!

This was a very enjoyable trip. Accommodations were made for different hiking levels. Hikes were well planed and our hiking club members were kept happy! All this after a huge burn on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge which had closed many trails that were in the original plan.

This was a spectacularly beautiful trip, especially with the wildflowers in bloom and many waterfalls. There is great variety of terrain -- from moderate to more challenging and very challenging. But there are options and choices each day. One of the highlights was the climb to the top of Beacon Rock with at least 47 switchbacks and great views along the way. Everyone in our group made it to the top! Our leaders Ken, Steve and Nancy were a very compatible team -- each with special interests and talents, so we benefited from all. Their program was well-planned and organized. Morning and evening presentations were always informative and entertaining. I recommend this trip if you are an experienced hiker!
