1
Registration & Orientation

Activity note: Fruit basket available at the registration table.

Afternoon: Check-in: Available from 3:30pm. Program Registration: After you have your room assignment, come over to the Road Scholar table to register with the program staff and get your welcome packet containing your name-tag, up-to-date schedule that reflects any last-minute changes, and other important information. Help yourself to the fruit basket! If you arrive late, please ask for your packet when you check-in. Orientation: 4:30pm. The Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the program theme, the up-to-date daily schedule and any changes, discuss safety guidelines, emergency procedures, roles and responsibilities, and answer any questions you may have. Indicated times are approximate. Program activities, schedules and personnel may need to change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding. We have set aside some free time in the schedule for your personal independent exploration. The Group Leader will often be available during free time to accompany informal excursions, or activities. You are welcome to join if you like, with any associated costs on your own.

Dinner: In the Trout Lodge dining room, enjoy a buffet with selections from two soups, salad bar, two entrees, assorted side dishes, and dessert bar. Drink options include: coffee, tea, water, juice, soda and milk.

Evening: Explore Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood and learn about the week's activities. Afterward, introduce yourself and get to know one another better.

Spend the morning learning what's in and around the water, followed by a riding lesson. After lunch enjoy canoeing on Sunnen Lake, a visit to the Nature Center and a Night Hike.

Activity note: Horseback riding requires long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring shoes that can get wet for water ecology.

Breakfast: Hot buffet breakfast varies daily, including sausage or bacon omelet, biscuits and gravy, bacon, pancakes or French toast. Fresh fruit, breads, cereals and pastries are always available. Beverages include coffee, tea, milk, and juices.

Morning: "What's in and around the water" - hands on lesson on aquatic ecology at our very own cold springs. Rocks and Minerals presentation lead by our expert geologists.

Lunch: Hot buffet lunch option with soup and salad bar. Menu varies. Coffee, tea, milk, water, juices and soda available at no extra cost.

Afternoon: Learn how to tack horses, and enjoy an educational Arena Ride at the Equestrian Barn.

Dinner: In the dining room, enjoy choices of two entrees from the hot buffet bar, soup and salad bar, desserts and beverages all included.

Evening: Make new friends at the Nature Center. Learn about habitats, diet and even pet the rabbits, snakes or lizards. Rocks and minerals evening presentation.

Follow the trail and uncover rocks and minerals. Then experience amazing Elephant Rocks State Park. End the day by climbing Alpine Tower, swinging on Alpine Swing and zip through the night sky on the zip line!

Activity note: Elephant Rocks State Park and Alpine Tower/Swing require closed-toe shoes. Wear comfortable clothes.

Breakfast: Buffet style. Vegetarian options.

Morning: Spend the morning learning how to wrap geologic wonders. Immediately following, board the bus for our picnic lunch and excursion at Elephant Rocks State Park.

Lunch: Picnic lunch at Elephant Rocks State Park.

Afternoon: Enjoy the afternoon at Elephant Rocks State Park where there are amazing natural geological wonders all around. Two routes through the park are available, one on a paved walkway, the other up and over the rocks. On the way back, stop and explore Caledonia. This small town is known for antiques, hand-dipped ice cream and candy from the general store.

Dinner: Hot buffet dinner in dining room with soup and salad bar. Menu varies.

Evening: Enjoy climbing our very own Alpine Tower and Alpine Swing... Alpine Tower - You'll climb over obstacles including "Lucky Charms", hanging logs, giant logs, and missing link as you scale this 50-foot, hourglass-shaped climbing structure. Alpine Swing - You'll wear a harness and helmet, and you'll be hooked into a cable that will be pulled into the air by your friends and family on the ground until you're hanging approximately 40 feet in the air. When you're ready to swing, you'll let go of a release cord. You'll fly through the air, "swinging" back and forth over a distance of about 60 feet. End the night by zipping through the night sky on our Moonlight Zip Line.

Head back down to the ranch for Cowboy camp and a trail ride. Catch some fish in Sunnen Lake, and then play games, tell stories and eat s'mores at a campfire.

Breakfast: Hot buffet breakfast in dining room, also includes fresh fruit, breads, cereals and pastries.

Morning: Start the morning out on the lake learning canoeing skills with our expert instructors.

Lunch: Hot buffet lunch in dining room with soup and salad bar. Menu varies.

Afternoon: Take a lovely horseback ride followed by archery lessons and free time to enjoy the 5200 acre facility.

Dinner: Hot buffet dinner in dining room with soup and salad bar. Menu varies.

Evening: Head on down to the ranch for a barn dance! Learn how to line dance from our Triangle Y Wranglers.

Float leisurely down the river on inflatable rafts. See sights you'd never see from the road.

Breakfast: Hot buffet breakfast in dining room also includes fresh fruit, breads, cereals and pastries.

Morning: Head off on our Float Trip led by Bass River Resorts.

Lunch: Picnic Lunch on the beach.

Afternoon: Finish the float trip and return to the lodge to relax and dry off. Spend a free afternoon however you please!

Dinner: Hot buffet dinner in dining room with soup and salad bar. Menu varies.

Evening: After a long day in the sun, relax and enjoy a a campfire.

Wrap up the week with a hay ride at the ranch.

Morning: Take a hay ride through the horse pastures. Don't forget to take pictures of your new friends!

Lunch: Hot buffet lunch in dining room with soup and salad bar. Menu varies. Lunch is included in the program. A boxed lunch is available for an additional fee for those that wish to leave as soon as class is over.
