Evening: A short program introducing the following days field trip.

Intro to Birding, Birding on Aquarium Trails, Evening Class

Breakfast: Breakfast from 8-8:30 am in the conference dining room.

Morning: This morning's class will cover an Intro to Birding. We'll discuss how to use binoculars effectively, how to use the scope the instructor brings and review the clock system. After, we'll have a brief introduction to the area with a PowerPoint and then take a walk around property to get oriented.

Lunch: in the conference dining room.

Afternoon: After lunch we'll head to the nearby aquarium to bird on their marsh and forest trails and enjoy a flighted bird program.

Dinner: Dinner will be from 6-7 pm in the cafeteria.

Evening: After dinner we'll learn about Migration and Citizen Science, including back yard bird counts.

Croatan Forest, Calico Creek Birding Trip, Free Time

Breakfast: There will be an optional sunrise birding excursion before breakfast. Breakfast from 8-8:30 am

Morning: Birding field trip comparing species found in areas of the maritime forest to the Croatan Forest, one of the south's most important undisturbed sites of Long Leaf Pine Savannah and Pocosin habitat.

Lunch: Lunch from 12:30-1:30 in the conference dining room.

Afternoon: Afternoon birding trip to Calico Creek's boardwalk. Look for wading and forest birds on this evening walk.

Dinner: Dinner from 6-7pm in the conference dining room.

Evening: Free time to explore on your own or relax after a busy day and prepare for tomorrow.

Birding N River & Rachel Carson Preserves, Waterfowl Museum

Breakfast: Breakfast at 8 am

Morning: This morning we'll head to the North River Preserve for some birding and then to the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum where you'll have the opportunity to see a decoy carver at work and learn about this unique part of coastal Carolina heritage.

Lunch: Lunch at a local restaurant on Harker's Island.

Afternoon: After lunch we'll board a boat to travel to the Rachel Carson Preserve and Bird Shoals for some birding.

Dinner: Dinner from 6-7pm in the conference dining room.

Evening: This evening, relax to the music of the talented artist known as Bogue Sounds.

Outerbanks Wildlife Shelter, Free Time, Bird List Debrief

Morning: This morning we'll venture to the Outerbanks Wildlife Shelter for a program on bird rehabilitation.

Lunch: We'll return to Trinity Conference Center and you'll have the opportunity for free time to explore some local fare on your own.

Afternoon: This afternoon you'll have free time to explore the area on your own.

Dinner: Dinner will be from 6-7 pm in the conference dining room.

Evening: After dinner we'll start to wrap up our week together with a Bird List Debrief with an expert birder.
