Afternoon: Program Registration: 4:00-6:00 p.m. After you have your room assignment, come over to the Road Scholar table in the lobby to register with the program staff and get your welcome packet containing your name-tag, up-to-date schedule that reflects any last-minute changes, and other important information. If your arrival is delayed, please ask for your packet when you check in. If participants arrive early on Sunday, there is a 2:30 PM performance of Spiders Web by Agatha Christie at Aurora Players, the community theater. Tickets are $12 per person and participants can email Ellen at email@example.com to check availability of tickets.
Dinner: In the historic dining room at the hotel, we’ll have a plated and served meal consisting of seasonal local fare with coffee, tea and water; other beverages available for purchase.
Evening: Orientation: The Group Leader will greet everyone with a warm welcome and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule and any changes, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. This is an Active program and participants can expect to walk up to 2 miles per day. Please be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes. One evening, we will have a special Show-and-Tell presentation with a local auctioneer to present articles and artifacts brought by you! Participants are encouraged to bring an item or items in the Arts and Crafts style to show and tell. Item(s) can be new or antique. Sometimes people have brought items to find out what they are. In the past, items such as valuable Roycroft books or other surprising products have been brought. If an item, i.e. a furniture piece, is too large to bring, participants can take pictures and show and tell from their laptop. We had previous participants who lived in a Wright house and showed and told about that experience. One man was a wood carver, a woman a potter, and they bought examples of their work. Wilson, our local expert, is an antique appraiser and an auctioneer with the gift of gab! He will bring some of his interesting 'stuff' to fill in if needed. Free time is reserved for your personal independent exploration. Please be aware that program activities, schedules, and personnel may need to change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding. Breakfast: In Hubbard Hall, the breakfast buffet includes a variety of hot and cold items including pastries, muffins, and fresh fruit with coffee, tea, and water.
Morning: We will begin our educational adventure by learning about the history of the Roycroft Inn with a docent. We will then hear from the Executive Director elaborating on the history, campus and future of the Inn. Afterwards, we will have a lecture elaborating on the philosophy of Hubbard provided by the Group Leader.
Lunch: At a local restaurant, we’ll have a light lunch with sandwiches and coffee, tea and water.
Afternoon: Free Time. Take this opportunity for personal independent exploration to see and do what interests you most. Please refer to the list of Free Time Opportunities. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions for things to see and do around town. We will meet back at the Inn at a predetermined time before heading off on foot to the Elbert Hubbard Roycroft Museum for a docent-led field trip to learn about life and accomplishments of Elbert Hubbard and his role in the Roycroft Arts & Crafts Movement.
Dinner: Before dinner, there will be a reception held at the historic Frederick Kranz. This home was built in 1911 by the Roycrofters for leather craftsman Frederick “Fritz” Kranz. Walk back to the Inn for plated meal.
Evening: At the hotel, we’ll be joined by a local auctioneer for a special Show & Tell presentation of articles or artifacts brought by you! See General Information section in the Evening of Day 1.

Morning: We will go to the Roycroft Chapel for a hands-on demonstration with a local printer/illuminator. At Power House, we will gather with a local expert to learn about Women of the Roycroft. We'll hear the stories of the women buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery and how they influenced the Roycroft legacy.
Lunch: At the Inn.
Afternoon: After lunch, we'll enjoy a lecture by a member of the Roycroft Campus Corporation. Free time before dinner.

Morning: We will have a morning lecture given by a local expert. On a walking field trip beginning at the Inn, we will explore three East Aurora churches including Baker United Methodist Church with its gorgeous matched set of Tiffany windows, Saint Matthias Episcopal Church where the Hubbard family attended mass, and The Christian Science Church built by the Roycrofters.
Lunch: This meal has been excluded from the program cost and is on your own to enjoy what you like. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions.
Afternoon: Free Time. Take this opportunity for personal independent exploration to see and do what interests you most. Please refer to the list of Free Time Opportunities. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions. You might like to explore more of the village of East Aurora or venture a bit further to Buffalo or even Niagara Falls. Before dinner, we’ll gather at White Hyacinths, a Roycroft residence, for a reception and staff-led visit through the site.
Dinner: At White Hyacinths, we’ll have a special buffet dinner including coffee, tea and water; other beverages available for purchase.
Evening: At leisure.
Activity note: Due to current renovations, there may be parts of Martin House that will be closed off. Alternative spaces will be open, but during this time the Martin House is not ADA Accessible.
Breakfast: Inn buffet.
Morning: Today will focus entirely on Frank Lloyd Wright. We’ll spend the morning at the Martin House, arriving via motorcoach. Wright designed this unique residential complex between 1903-1905 for wealthy Buffalo businessman Darwin D. Martin and his family. The Martin House is a National Historic Landmark and is considered one of Wright’s finest achievements of the Prairie period. The complex consists of five interconnected buildings and 394 examples of Frank Lloyd Wright-designed art glass, including the famed “Tree of Life” window.
Lunch: Boxed Lunches.
Afternoon: Next, we will travel by motorcoach to Graycliff Estate, the former summer home of the Martin family. This tranquil retreat on the shores of Lake Erie was one of Wright’s most significant creations of the 1920s. Afterwards, we will arrive at the usonian home, a term Frank Lloyd Wright gave to his smaller ranch style homes, of the Roycroft potter, Janice McDuffie, for a reception and guided exploration of her home and studio.

Evening: At the inn, we will be treated to a presentation about the Darwin D. Martin House with vintage images by someone who has lived there. Be sure to prepare for check-out and departure in the morning.

Morning: Our final morning will consist of two lectures related to the program theme at the inn. The first of which will be given by the Roycroft Master. The second, accompanied by a slide presentation, will be given by the town historian and Director of the Aurora Historical Society.
