Jekyll Island has bragging rights as Georgia's largest public golf resort. With three 18 hole golf courses — Pine Lakes, Indian Mound and Oleander — Jekyll Island has something for golfers of all ability levels to enjoy. In addition to its spectacular 18 hole courses, Jekyll Island also boasts Great Dunes, the historic nine hole course. Lower your handicap and make your game more enjoyable by letting Jekyll Island's best golf professionals show you ways of improving your putting, chipping, pitching and bunker play.
Activity Level
Outdoor: No Sweat
Golfers of all ability levels welcomed. Standing and swinging clubs during morning instruction, and playing 18 holes during three afternoons. Carts provided for afternoon play.
At the hotel, there are steps leading from the Bellstand to the veranda at the entrance (there is a handicap lift available). There are also 4 steps leading to the front desk. There is a gift shop at the hotel that has steps as well, which include 3 steps up and 3 steps down.
Small Group
Love to learn and explore in a small-group setting? These adventures offer small, personal experiences with groups of 13 to 24 participants.
What You'll Learn
- Work with Jekyll Island's best golf professionals to improve your putting, chipping, full swing and more each morning.
- Play golf on three afternoons on one of three 18-hole courses on your own — Pines Lakes, Indian Mound and Oleander — and 9-hole course Great Dunes.

Scott Turner
Scott Turner graduated from the Citadel, where he played collegiate golf, in 1998. He became a PGA professional in 2001, winning the 2009 East Chapter Georgia Section Golf Professional of the Year. He taught for the Phil Ritson Mel Sole Golf Academy, and worked as a professional, director, and manager at various clubs throughout the southeast.

Linda Arthur

Retired from a career in education, Linda Arthur served as a professor, assistant superintendent and interim superintendent, and received numerous community service awards. She enjoys sharing the history of Jekyll Island, playing bridge, mahjongg and golfing.
Georgia Graves

Georgia Graves has developed and coordinates teacher training workshops on Georgia's sea turtles, shorebirds, marine mammals and coastal ecology for the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve, one of 26 such reserves in North America. Georgia leads nature and history programs and works with Georgia's sea turtle conservation project.

Doug Ballenger

Doug Ballenger has been a member of the PGA since 1982. He has been a head professional at clubs in Charlotte, NC and Murrells Inlet, SC. He has taught private and group lessons to all skill levels, from beginner to college-level players. He was a Master Club Fitter for Golfsmith from 2012 to 2016.
