As a midwesterner, I had never felt that L.A. was an approachable city in terms of public transportation. We saw instances of that improving, but museum websites give directions only in terms of driving. While we aren't luddites, we don't have a smart phone which makes some options off limits to us. This trip seemed like the perfect way of getting into museums we had heard of and others which we had not. We also were able to knock off two destinations which we had wondered about: the city's earliest start as well as La Brea Pits.

Great Program but lots and lots of museum walking. You need good feet and good shoes.

We thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Jill was superb group leader. Teachers were very knowledgeable. They welcomed interaction, even challenges, from participants. Hotel food service was great. Room was deficient in lighting; fixtures near beds but no lighting at wall near desk or luggage storage. Our concern is that there was no Extension on this schedule for us to visit the Broad and MOCA. I understand there is an Extension in December but we are told we cannot participate then.

Re: Mar 18-23, 2018 trip. This trip was well organized. The L.A. downtown hotel is currently privately owned and above most standard road scholar hotels by far. The hotel restaurant provides excellent gourmet quality food in a convivial setting. My two complaints would be poorwi fi service and out of date TV service compared to what is being offered at Marriott Residence inns in California that offer access to Apple TV, etc. However, you are kept so busy, the TV hardly matters. I suggest that the itinerary include the Broad and contemporary art museums nearby with an option to attend a symphony at a Disney complex also nearby. I suggest dropping the overcommercialized Huntington museum. Extra night out recommendation: nearby new Michelin Star NYC restaurant, NoMad. Very popular, not sedate, but excellent service and food. I am familiar with most R.S. West Coast Signature City hotel venues...none come close to this one. M.B.

Delightful experience. Well worth the time, effort and money.

If you are interested in the stories behind the art museums in this program the instructors presented informative and humorous information. The four sites are all so different. Learning the history of Los Angeles from an instructor and our leader was interesting. I came away intrigued and inspired to go home and work on my own art projects. Betty Van Ryder

This art tour was wonderful! - you see a tremendous amount of great works of art in 5 days - and learn the context within which they were created.

For all who love art, this program provides a quality experience of the rich resources of the LA area. Museum visits and lectures complemented each other very well. Accomodations, leadership, and other group participants made this a very enjoyable and enriching experience.

Wonderful program; all four of the art museums were worthwhile. Memorable art! Program was very well-organized. The morning lectures in advance of the visits to the museums were excellent. Each of our lecturers was very informative and added so much to the museum visits. Hotel location was good; rooms very nice; very good meal selections. This program was perfect! Highly recommend. I enjoyed the art so much that I am already considering doing this program again in a year or two! It was that good!

If you have an interest in History and Art and Gardens this is the trip for you. Lots of information and new things to see. Great experience.

This program was delightful in every way. Our Group Leader, Kathleen Fitzgerald, was enthusiastic and very well organized. Fellow participants were friendly and fun. I enjoyed learning about LA’s art collectors and, especially, visiting the collections. My favorite was the Huntington Library where the gardens are magnificent. Each day was packed with fun excursions and pleasant new friends.

Very interesting and informative. Four individuals in one metro area with such varied interests. Getty Center is worth it just by itself. Well paced with time to see your own interests. Other than being very cool temperature wise, the hotel was great. Good location to use the elevated walkways to explore.

beautiful art, gardens and architecture, interesting people, overview of LA

The Los Angeles art tour was so engaging and well organized I could not have asked for more. Even the hotel and food were spectacular. A lot of fun and great value.

This is a perfectly balanced program with a chance to know the Collectors, the Collections and LA area...and see the sun. Elise Meyers, Portland, Oregon

Highly recommended for art lovers and people who want to learn more about art. Fabulous museums and informative lectures.

Very interesting, well-paced tours of four quite different museums, each preceded by useful commentary by articulate experts.

A great way to see 4 great Art Museums in Los Angeles without the hassle of driving yourself

This program exceeded my expectations, a week crammed with great art; I came home sated.
