Road Scholar Impact Grants: Financial Assistance
for Road Scholar Learning Adventures
Road Scholar Impact Grants increase the social, educational and economic diversity of Road Scholar's participant group, enriching the program experience for all, not just those who receive financial aid. There are two kinds of Impact Grants:
- Enrichment Grants
- Caregiver Grants

Learn about honoring a loved one by endowing an Enrichment Grant in their name.
Enrichment Grants are awarded to lifelong learners without the financial means to participate in our learning adventures. Each year, thanks to the generosity of our donors, more than 300 Enrichment Grants are awarded.

Note: Financial eligibility and other requirements apply. Income eligibility alone does not guarantee a grant.
Since 1975, Road Scholar Enrichment Grants have provided tuition support for individuals who have the desire to learn but not the means to attend a Road Scholar learning adventure. Past award recipients include:
- Retired educators from public and private schools like teachers, librarians, school nurses, guidance counselors and coaches.
- Single parents, widows and widowers.
- Retired, full-time and adjunct professors and faculty.
- Clergy and religious leaders.
- Social workers, case workers and counselors.
- The self-employed, small-business owners and part-time staff.
- Artists, musicians, actors and writers.
We at Road Scholar acknowledge the weighty responsibility you and all adults who serve as family caregivers for ill or disabled relatives carry. The warm, welcoming and friendly nature of our learning adventures can provide a much-needed respite from the emotional and physical demands inherent in your caregiver service. We're committed to helping you offset the costs of arranging substitute care while you attend a Road Scholar learning adventure. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we are able to do just that by awarding Caregiver Grants.
We encourage you to apply if you are caring for an ill or disabled family member and need assistance in covering the costs of respite care to attend a Road Scholar program.
