Make a Difference in Someone’s Life
With a Named Scholarship Fund

"I want to thank you for allowing me the pleasure of attending a program this year. My husband and I started going on these programs in 1989. When he passed away, I had to rely on a scholarship to be able to a attend program. What a learning experience these programs are ... I do so enjoy them! I also would like to thank the generous people who contribute to these scholarships. Without them, people like me wouldn’t be able to attend them ... thank you!"
—— Anonymous Road Scholar Participant & Scholarship Recipient

At Elderhostel, we believe that lifelong learning should be accessible to all older adults — no matter one’s economic status. Since our earliest days, we have offered scholarships to those participants who have the desire to learn, but not the means to take part in our enriching educational programs. Each year, Elderhostel awards over 300 scholarships to enthusiastic lifelong learners.

We hear from many participants who value our educational programs and want to make sure that others can enjoy these same experiences. To help make scholarships available, donors can choose to endow a Named Scholarship fund with a gift of $10,000 or more. Income from these funds will be awarded as scholarships in perpetuity.

"Elderhostel opened up the world for me. It's not just the places I’ve seen, it’s the wonderful people I've met along the way … I decided to create a scholarship so that those who can’t afford the programs can still participate."
— Dorothy Snodgrass
