Whether you step aboard the American Serenade, the American Symphony or the American Melody, you’ll be walking into a modern, elevated sailing experience. Built to accommodate a total of 180 passengers, each of this elegant riverboats’ cabins include a private balcony, en suite bathroom and closet. These sister ships offer passengers multiple dining options as well as ample space to take in the passing shorelines. Take a walk on the top deck’s sky walk, gather with your fellow passengers on the sundeck or relax in the lounges with panoramic views. No matter where you are on these vessels, learning landscapes are never far from sight. 

Meet the Fleet: Our Trio of Mississippi Riverboats

While these three ships share similar designs and amenities, each vessel brings a unique touch to your learning adventure on the waters of the Mississippi River. 

American Serenade

The newest ship in this fleet, the American Serenade also has the distinction of winning Cruise Critic’s 2023 Editors’ Picks Award for Best New River Cruise Ship of the Year, which was the first time an American ship has been honored with this award. The Serenade follows the high standards set by its sister ships, combining comfortable amenities with a sleek riverboat design.

American Symphony

Comfort, style and effortless travel all come together on the Symphony. Built in 2022, this vessel offers everything you might need while sailing the Mississippi River, from an onboard fitness center to multiple dining venues to panoramic views from which to take it all in.

American Melody

Built in 2021, the Melody pioneered the contemporary design and details evident across this trio of ships. Crafted with the Mississippi River in mind, the Melody’s spacious windows and popular Back Porch Café combine comfort and luxury in a manner that sets the bar high for future vessels.

Savor the lighter fare and open-air views of the Back Porch Café!

Lounges

Want to delight in an elegant experience over cocktails and socializing? The Sky Lounge, with its illuminating skylight, is for you! Looking to take in lively entertainment after a full day of learning? The River Lounge offers a space for conversation by day and excitement by night. Craving a place to sneak away for quiet observation? The Storyteller Lounge with its intimate space awaits. Whichever lounge you choose, there’s no shortage of ways onboard to gather and engage with your thoughts and your fellow passengers.

Sundeck

As the name implies, the sundeck is the perfect place to catch some rays and keep an eye out for your next port! Located on the top deck of each ship, ample seating and reclining lounge chairs mean you can enjoy conversations with friends or just relax as you take in new horizons. Fancy some exercise? The sky walk borders the sundeck, so you can stroll as you sail along.

Deck Plans

Each ship has five decks, balancing private stateroom space with opportunities for congregating both indoors and outdoors. Frequently Asked Questions

While voyaging on these vessels, casual sportswear and resort attire is recommended. At dinnertime, you might consider slightly elevated attire, including a sport shirt, coat and slacks for men and a dress or a top and slacks for women. It’s a good idea to bring comfortable walking shoes, a windbreaker, a hat and rainwear in case of inclement weather.

The three sister ships offer wheelchair accessible staterooms and elevators to all decks except the sundeck. Please call us at (800) 454-5768 to inquire about a wheelchair accessible room. Please note that availability is limited.

Smoking is only allowed in specific areas on these three ships. It is not allowed in staterooms and their private balconies.
