Sedona Wilderness Sampler: Off the Beaten Track

This unique program, designed for physically fit, experienced hikers, will explore Sedona’s pristine National Wilderness areas. Hikes, primarily in the four wilderness areas surrounding Sedona, will traverse seldom-used routes and avoid popular trails and maximize opportunities for adventure and solitude envisioned by wilderness designation. From verdant riparian communities to red rock mesas dotted with pinon, juniper, and manzanita to pine covered mountains, enter the world of this region’s unique ecology. Learn the geologic processes of Sedona’s distinctive landscapes as well as the botany, archaeology and history of the region. Time is dedicated during hikes to reflect upon the stunning surroundings and awesome natural landscapes.
