Service Learning: Preserving President Lincolnís National Heritage

Take a journey back in time as you assist in preserving President Lincoln's heritage, in Springfield, Illinois. Spend a week constructing an actual privy in the neighborhood of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, where Lincoln lived from 1844-1861. As time allows, repair and paint wooden fences and complete light landscape work throughout the site. Learn about the complexities of restoring this historic site and its components and explore Lincolnís life in the world-class and unique Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and the national historic site.
