Intergenerational: Exploring the Waters and Wilds of the Outer Banks

Get up close and personal with the marine life of North Carolina’s Outer Banks as you and your grandchild cast fishing nets, examine your catch and thrill in the sight of creatures swimming along the shorelines. Onboard a research vessel, observe species trawled from waters supporting five species of sea turtles and nearly 100 species of fish and invertebrates. Any creatures you don’t observe at sea are sure to be out and about when you visit the North Carolina Aquarium’s 306,000-gallon Living Shipwreck exhibit. Practice wilderness survival techniques and hear stories and songs around the campfire.
