The Grand Canyon Skywalk: A Bird’s Eye View From 4,000 Feet

Seeing the Grand Canyon is an awe-inspiring, unforgettable experience. Take this feeling to a higher level as you peer down at the Colorado River from 4,000 feet above — for comparison, the Sears Tower is 1,730 feet tall — on the new Grand Canyon Skywalk. An engineering marvel opened in 2007, the Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass walkway extending from the rocky canyon wall. Discover the Grand Canyon from this and many other angles, including a journey to its very bottom where you encounter 1.8-billion-year-old rocks and the churning Colorado. Interact with the Hualapai, the “people of the tall pine” whose traditional territory lies along the Canyon’s edge, as tribe members introduce you to their myths, music and current way of life.
